Next time I have a bunch of trim and popcorn, I'm going to make a bunch of butane honey oil and mix that with screened kief, it should make for some very interesting blond hash.

Silk screens are sold in art supply stores. I have seen them cost about $25. They're expensive, but they are already attached to the frames and are stratched tight already. They are near the paint section. I think they are for sieving dry paint pigments for making you're own paint, or maybe they're used for something like that t-shirt printing method.

Just in case some one wanted to know. I mean you walk into an art supply store, you want a cover, and want to understand how this goes, here you go. Nylon is also used for this by the way. You have your fabric stretched over the frame. You can make these yourselves, so a fabric store might have what you need. You coat the fabric with photo emulsion. You have an image that has been rendered into black and white (each color is done separately so a three color print needs three screens) the image has been reversed. Then it is printed on acetate (overhead projector film) You cover your photo emulsion painted screen with this and then expose it to bright light for a good day to "cure" it. The segments covered by the black image don't "cure". You then gently wash the screen so that the undeveloped regions wash off. Then you take some printing ink and a squeegee and run ink through your screen. Thus printing the image onto the medium. It'll make you feel a little like Andy Warhol. Not really about hash, but now you understand the screen printing process and can bullshit with the retail clerks if you feel it to be necessary.

Thanks, I have wondered how silk screening worked but had never bothered looking it up.

We did some screen printing with just some loose weave silk my girlfriend had and some ModPodge. It's a glue that is water insoluble. So basically after it dries you now have a screen you can wash the paint off of. Basically we do it the hard core way where you just paint your images with small brushes and large amounts of ModPodge. But we also made some kick ass shirts .

Would this be worthwhile to try for someone who only grows like 3 plants at a time? Or do you need like a ton of trim/buds.

Well I guess it depends what you think is worth while and what kind of yield you pull from your plants.
100grams of trim = 25 grams of hash which I'd say is worth while.. I wouldn't hesitate to make hash with half that amount of trim either.. hash can go a fairly long way :O

for really good kief you could try
220, 150, 77
you'll probably find the quality to shoot up by first sifting through the 220.
