Eh, I honestly don't believe Obama will be much (if any) better. He's a politician
I mean, George Bush Sr. banned offshore drilling as environmentally unsound, and here 18 years later, Obama declares that he supports lifting the ban at least partially (after promising perviously that offshore drilling was not part of his energy plan). Bush Sr. wasn't exactly an eco-friendly president.
Get out and vote Make your voices heard You've been given the right to choose between a douche and a turd!

He's a politician, but at least he has some sound policies and something to go on. some ideas about fixing some of the issues here. mccain just seems like a total trainwreck to me i dunno
im also going on the fact that basically ANYONG else (except mccain) is better than dubyuh.

They both support the growth of the economy. This is an unsustainable attitude that shows a fundamental lack of comprehension of the exponential growth function. As long as we keep trying to grow the economy and grow our population, we're only making the problems worse. We're fucked any way you slice it.

Do you suggest we shrink our economy? Or stop lending out money?

What we need is zero economic growth. We need to stop this rediculous spiral of inventing new money through debt. One of the fundamental presumptions about debt in our economy is that the future will always be larger, and at least as prosperous as we are today. Otherwise, debt could never be repaid. But of course, assuming the future is always going to be larger, we run into obvious resource limitation. There's only enough land to make so much food, and to house so many people... and all the while we're building this up on non-renewable resources.
The whole system is fucked from the ground up.
