cheaper than the vapor bros (and obviously the volcano) and portable. Has anyone tried one of these and do you know if it removes as much of the carcinogenic compounds as the vapor bros?

To sum up what I read, it heats up really quick (under a minute), gives a nice warm smoke (not too hot), and can fit in your pocket. On the downside, one guy took a hit of it without any herb (which doesn't seem like a good idea, but was a test of his) and he said he exhaled smoke, which means it heated some sort of plastic or other possibly toxic chemicals in the bowl.
That really scares me... kind of ruins the health reasons for owning a vape.

Looks nice, but I vaguely recall readingsome negative reviews by reliable folks that caused me to opt for the vapor bros.

Nah, I used to. It was one of a handful of things a roommate and I went halves on. When it came to splitting the stuff up, he wanted the vape more than I did, so we divided things accordingly.
The Vapor Bros is nice, don't get me wrong. It's just not really for me at this point.
I just don't have the patience or foresight to account for the 5-minute warm-up time on the unit. I'd always just smoke a bowl while waiting for it to heat up.
Until my lungs start giving up on me, I just prefer smoking it.
No need to worry about cancer from weed, only emphysema... weed smoke does contain carcinogens, but doesn't elevate the cancer risk compared to nonsmokers (it actually decreased cancer risk in the gov't-biased study, but not by a statistically significant amount). This might be because of THC's known anticancer properties. Whatever the reason, it confirms the age-old wisom that smoking weed won't give you cancer.

I haven't decided yet if I want a vape, but if I do get one, it's gonna be a vapor bros. I think you're right about cannabis not causing cancer, but there hasn't been enough research in my opinion to say there's not a chance. I used to hate smoking, but now I usually enjoy it, and never having tried a vaporizer, I'm a little hesitant to dish out $200 on one. Thanks for the help though Sativus.
