It immediately relieves your headache while your doing it; a percentage of it returns when you remove yourself from the heat (but you can just keep your head suspended over the pot! Headaches hurt!) Overall, it helps it go away a lot faster.

And that's really only effective for sinus pains, not real headaches.

Try adding a few drops of mint oil or lavender to it next time...Should help relieve the headache even that much more...You can even try rubbing a little bit of the mint oil or lavender oil on your forehead or temples...
