My plant is droopy!

Hi all,
Yesterday evening I went for a run. As I ran through a big, empty lot full of construction debris and weed-covered mounds, I spotted a young (~3 weeks old) cannabis plant! Now, this was very special, because I'm used to 100+ degree temps daily, and I've never seen one in the wild. It must've been the remnant of some tokin' Mexican construction workers or something. So anyway, I figured that I had better transplant it, let it recover under a few CFL lamps I have, then transplant it again to a nice place I know of that gets regular irrigation. I dug around it about 6 inches down and ripped off the taproot (I got about 6 inches of it, it must've been deep). I planted it in a 3 gallon pot with a mixture of Miracle Gro Garden Mix and vermiculite. Then I overwatered it and secured it to a little pole. Well, within about an hour it drooped severely. This morning I began an 18-hour light cycle. It's about a foot tall and drooping bad.
So, I know I made some BIG mistakes, and I am soliciting advice, because all I know to do is to continue the light cycle, water conservatively, and wait. If no advice comes to mind, then is there a way to tell if the plant is beyond repair, i.e. dead?

It could be stressed from being transplanted and loosing some roots. Do you have superthrive?

transplant shock + over watering = droop plant.
Let it dry out for a few days, once the moisture wicks away it'll perk up again.
Poor choice of soil btw, i know it's probably all you had available at the time, but you should try and find something better if not make your own.

any time you transplant they will get droopy for a bit. should perk right up in no time.

Superthrive is good for stress.
