Should I grind all my weed in advance (light user)?

I don't vape a lot of weed at a time, sometimes several times a week and sometimes not for a few weeks.
I keep my weed in a canning jar, the ones with a tight lid and a mechanical metal lock thing (with a rubber seal and glass lid)
Anyway, I've bought 7 grams of weed 6 or 8 months ago and I'm maybe halfway through. Like I said, I don't peruse a lot.
So when I want to vape, I just break a little bud down with my fingers because it's too little at a time to bust out the grinder. It works, but it feels like I'm not extracting as much as when it's ground up.
Is it a bad idea to pre-grind all my weed and then scoop it up whenever I need? I worry it would negatively impact the THC. I've seen people do that but they're professional users on YouTube and they go through a lot more weed a lot quicker than I do.

Grind it up AS NEEDED before you vape. More surface area

This.
Grinding up your bud and then letting it sit for months is just begging for lower quality product.
Think of it like grinding up coffee beans. Yea you can buy preground coffee beans, or grind them up a month or two before you use them, but you're going to lose some of the aroma/flavor, and while it will get you caffeinated, it'll be less enjoyable getting there.
But definitely use a grinder if you're vaping. Because it's hot air washing over the flower rather than combustion, the larger chunks of bud don't heat up evenly and you're probably leaving cannabinoids in the material.

Meh.
At work, I dump 10 pound bags of buds into an industrial grinder to be made into joints. Joints are put into plastic tubes and who knows how long before they are sold.

Yeah, it's pretty gross.
But hey, that's what we get for legalizing cannabis!
Commercial quality!

I've seen some decent looking wholesale buds roll through, much better than what my facility is capable of growing.
It's a little more expensive.
Growing your own can be a challenge for some people. I would have to do an indoor grow while my moms neighbor grew a plant in her back yard, out in the open. All she did was water it from seed. I would need a tent and lights and all sorts of things to produce good quality bud.

No you don't. Some of the best bud I've ever smoked I grew myself and just watered it a few times in the season and that's it
I take it you have no place outside to grow? If so why not ask your moms neighbor if you can grow one by hers?

What? Grinding creates more surface area for the bud to burn evenly. Also, I hate smoking stems.

the surface area argument is so stupid
it still burns through to ashes
grinding weed is an unnecessary step that worsens the esthetic

It's more necessary for things like dry herb vapes.
