 Albums for octave shifting

Can you shift the octave of your audio output with a program or equalizer or mixing device?
Then I've got some albums for you to try:
- Quiet Village - Silent Movie (good both +-1 octave, I like it best down one)
- Das EFX - Dead Serious (-1 real nice)
- Venetian Snares - Soundtrack to my Downfall (+1 octave, get ready to clean your ceiling.)
- Nathan Haines - Squire for Hire (I prefer +1, but it's not bad -1 either)
- James Brown - Get on the Good Foot (-1 octave, try it.)

I am using Ubuntu Linux, my music player, and a program called PulseEffects
I havent checked but I feel certain there are octave shifting or tuning apps avail for other systems
A friend of mine was trying it with a device he has going from his speaker to his computer

Really trying to avoid devolving into single song hits for the sake of people who may be interested in trying any of these with the actual vinyl/cd and a big speaker rig idk something like that

it might blow out your speakers so be careful try it on a cheap speaker or something
I'm thinking they might be good an octave up too, haven't tried yet, jamming this album first.
So Alive is a obviously really good shifted too.

Forget Minnie Ripperton, throw that record out. Listen to James hit them alto notes it is spiritual! Down an octave it's just.... maaaaaaan it's inexplicable, it's brass on brass. Even the live albums all the females in the crowd screamin with him MMM currently jamming to the Live Apollo album from 1963
