I would go with Russian Standard Platinum Vodka. Smooth vodka, good quality at a good price. More important no headaches next day after half of it.

I passed out under a pickup on that stuff. Good times
-------------------- Bassui wrote the following letter to one of his disciples who was about to die:
"The essence of your mind is not born, so it will never die. It is not an existence, which is perishable. It is not an emptiness, which is a mere void. It has neither color nor form. It enjoys no pleasures and suffers no pains.
"I know you are very ill. Like a good Zen student, you are facing that sickness squarely. You may not know exactly who is suffering, but question yourself: What is the essence of this mind? Think only of this. You will need no more. Covet nothing. Your end which is endless is as a snowflake dissolving in the pure air."

Do any of you know anything about Lagavulin 16?
I was a HUGE whisky guy. I drank some of the cheapest of the cheap and I drank some 5 stars that were mind blowing.
I have had a dope life... No I don't. I'm lying. I was an alcoholic. No lies though. My dad brought a 750.00 bottle of whiskey once. So fucking good. He drank like a bitch though. Mr one glass ass hole. Nah fool. We're about to kill this bottle!
We haven't talked since

I've heard that's a nice one. I've yet to really try many bourbons, always keep a bottle of Woodford on hand though... love the oakiness.

Last night I tried mixing some hoppy lager with a little bit of vermouth, then put a jalapeno slice in it. It was like drinking creek water, man, it was so damn nasty. I mean I still drank all of it, but wow, yuck.

Oddly enough those are 2 of the ones I'd probably be least likely to recommend to someone new to scotch , very strong/funky flavors and lots of depth. If I could just get over my aversion to smoke I'd probably love them, right now an Oban or Springbank are really the peatiest I go
Haven't drank since before christmas, planning to try the balvenie rum cask and glenmorangie sauterne cask scotches tomorrow night though as an after dinner treat, can't wait. I keep looking at new bottles to get but just don't drink often enough to justify it any more

Oh my, the Caribbean cask was awful. Pure ethanol, made my whole tongue numb. I've read from some people that once you open the bottle for a bit and let it mellow it improve a bunch, hoping that's the case. Added a bit of water but it didn't help much
Went back to my Glendronarch 15 year sherry cask, what a difference. It's like drinking Christmas time, smooth as hell and all sorts or warm flavors popping out. Opening the Sauternes cask now which should be interesting, I've had the wine before and its a great sweet desert sipper

Sauternes cask is yummy. I've drank a bunch or the original Glenmorangie, it's pretty interesting how this one tastes identical with the sweet honey lightness, then drifts off into the oaky vanilla sauternes flavor at the end.

Yes I'm diving into the deep end lol
I loved Lagavulin 16. Will get again. I just drink it with a splash of water.
Going to pick up that bottle of Ardbeg maybe this week or next.
