I know it sounds way better for the environment, but there is not a chance in hell that there will be enough supply for this type of energy. Its stupid. I mean i like willie nelson, but dont be a retard.
Unless we find another natural large supply of energy, we are stuck with oil. I hope they somehow come up with more effective hydrogen based cars that are cost efficient, or a super power solar car.
come on scientists, we can go to the moon but cant make a car?

u can buy a converter for $2,000 that turns used cooking oil into diesel.
if i had the money and a truck i'd buy that mofo in a heartbeat.
and i think buying and selling bio-diesel could easily be lucrative.
maybe not right now at this point in time, but we'll see what happens.

Well Diesel is 5.00 a gallon now, where I live and with my calculations I could make bioD for .40 - 2.40 per gallon after the initial investment in tanks and shit.
Im thinking if I could get enough customers I could work all summer and take a break in the winter, or stock up in the winter.
Looking to staRT A FAMILY BIZ  (stupid capp lock)
The nearest bioD station is 200miles away and There are allot of diesel vehicles in my area. If I could secure a large source of used oil I think this is something I would like to give a try.

Hey a word of encouragement, fuck the haters. There is a local beer store in town that delivers kegs to house parties and other events. They run all their delivery trucks on biodiosel and also sell it at the beer store to anyone that wants it. It is much cheaper than diesel now in my area. It's made from old grease from restaurants (burger joints, mexican places, etc), so it's very cheap the produce. There is a market for it, I see lots of VWs pullin up and buying bioD.
One thing to note is they have to change the mixture in the winter time so engines don't clog.
Isn't it true any diesel vehicle can run it without any conversion though?

im not hating on it if thats what your implying, im saying there are too many risk factors in the operations end of it, wat if machinery breaks, what if no one buys, how much will i make. Im only saying this because you may be able to make it for 40.- 240 a gallon, im saying you wont make a big enough stock. bio deisel cars require large tanks.....this is just my opinion htough.

A business model that depends on free source material is a bad idea, unless you think you can just make a quick buck.

biodiesel is alright, but i just run my car on unprocessed waste vegetable oil. free and easy! and i didnt do any kind of modifications whatsoever to my car. at all.

Did you at least install a good inline filter? You must know there are pro's and cons to any alternative fuel. The big issue with running straight veg oil is eventually the lines gunk up. One way to combat this is cycling straight veg with bioD to flush the lines.

yep i just ran some diesel through yesterday (4 gallons through the system). right now i just put it new stock filters (inline and screw on). working on getting a hold of a better prefiltration setup and some 55 gallon drums too.

although i think you may be off on the gunking up thing. veg oil acts as a solvent.
