I agree that it's probably time for me to graduate to concentrates, but I have a ways to go before I can afford everything I need to produce my own, and buying concentrates gets pricey when you don't have a job.

Also why live resin?  Isn't live rosin where it's at?  Just kidding, live rosin is still $80 a g here :cookiemonster:

Edit:no fuck that I HAVE one you can just have if you need one that bad lol

Kind of you to offer, but I was actually thinking I would pick up either a proper rig with an e-nail or a puffco peak pro for my first real dab rig.  I had a nectar collector for distillate before, but it was all glass and had a fine tip so I accidentally broke it while cleaning.

I've decided not to buy myself new toys until I become self-sufficient with my grow.  I'm currently going through around 4 oz of shitty dispo shake/popcorn a month, so once I have my own homegrown to puff on, I should be able to buy myself a peak pro, a switch, and a rosin press before too long.  I figure having dankity dank instead of dispo schwagg will also help me buy some time to save up for a press.

Yeah, I started smoking with more experienced stoners, so my tolerance shot up quick.  Then I got my medical card, and now it's something I rely on to maintain a healthy weight.

If I had some semblance of a social life, I might be able to find a good dealer.  Pretty much given up on that though.

I think I just need to get off my ass and start growing again.

I had to take a break from growing for a while, as I couldn't afford to get my new grow area finished.  Backup plans fell through as well, so now I am working on setting up another grow in my bathroom.  Roughly a 4x3.5 area, I'm going to throw a 3x3 flood tray in it and scrog it with 9 plants.

Just kills me that I haven't been able to get my shop grow going.  I have room for 8 lights, with 10 foot ceilings, but I can't afford to pay someone to fix the mini-split right now so I haven't been able to run anything out there :feelsbatman:

Uhh that all sounds like a lot! Do you have any lights now? You could use like stuff for one or two plants in a tent while youre saving up for more.

I have 18 QB96 elite v2's and 10 hlg-320h-54a's.  I figured I'd use one driver per 3 boards, 6 boards per 4x4.  If I do it that way I currently have enough boards for 3 lights and enough drivers for 5.

Another thought I had was using my two 1000w HPS hoods with the LEDs, which would allow me to run the room a little cooler during the winter due to the added IR and would give me another 4x8 area of coverage.

I've saved up a bit for more equipment, but I've calculated that once I get it going, it's going to cost me around $800 a month to heat it during the colder winter months.  That's going to be difficult to afford if I can't get some patients on board right away.

The good news is, I've seen several people on reddit looking for caregivers in my area, so I'm pretty sure I could at least get enough from a few dedicated patients to help cover the expenses.

I haven't had much luck with the outdoor season, this year I harvested one too early during a heat wave, and it dried so fast it lost all the terps.  Also noticed a fair amount of mold already, so I pretty much gave up on the remaining 3.  Had good results growing tomatoes and peppers in coco though!

Around here you pretty much need a greenhouse to pull off a decent outdoor harvest.  We used to have a nice big one, but it collapsed under the snow load when I went out of state for college.

For now, it's still legal here to grow 72 plants and sell to 5 patients with the proper paperwork.  Ideally that's what I'd be doing, producing high quality flower, RSO, and live rosin, as well as edibles and other infused products for my patients and friends.

Yeah lol, we got medical in 08 and rec a few years ago.  Rec drove the prices and quality down, so if you can produce quality you might only get $100 an oz for it, but the medical program never has been about getting rich.

Rec prices at the dispo for their best flower is still around $16 a gram though, live resin is $40, live rosin $80.  So there's definitely room for a thriving grey market.

DMT was my primary psychedelic for a while, I've grown rather fond of it.  But I was either smoking changa or vaporizing the freebase with my dry herb vape, which is the best method of consumption I've found for blasting off.

Pharmahuasca was very intense for me, but I did 1/4g deems and far too much maoi.  I was on all three levels of my single story home, then we started a fire by the largest oak in the forest and accepted a quest from the great oak to slay the pine trees that were popping up around it's feet.  Two people, two machetes; but two people wielding machetes in close proximity is dangerous, so we took turns dual wielding.

LSD for me was very colorful and funny, we kept getting stuck in thought loops and laughing our asses off over inside jokes that only made sense if you were tripping.  We drove around and ate snow, or rode bikes and longboards.  Longboarding on LSD is amazing.  For one of our adventures I had to ride in the bed of my buddy's truck, so I made the most of it and "truckboarded" down the roads and trails.

Ah shit... My plants seem OK but doing the flush i see my soil is crawling, like 3 different shapes of little micro bug.... What do?  I dont see any posts on it other than stuff for leaf pests. I dont have anything on my leaves thank goodness

This is where a microscope comes in handy, identifying the bugs will help you determine whether they are a good or a bad thing.  Springtails are a pretty common decomposer.  Root aphids would be a problem.

Plenty of predatory mites out there as well, in general with organics the more alive your soil is, the better.  It's the soil food web that feeds your plants.

Worms, springtails, rove beetles, rolly pollys, etc.  can all be useful in the soil.

Do you have any coconut coir?  I've had good results rooting clones in just coco with a dome, a simple solo cup in a gallon ziplock or two liter bottle will work.

This year I started some tomatoes way early and cloned some for my outdoor garden.  Just cuttings in coco, no rooting hormone. 12/12 rooted within two weeks.

I also just cloned a haskap branch that had broken off and was wilting.  Overnight in a glass of water, then dipped in clonex and stuck inside a root riot cube sliced down the middle and held together with string.  We'll see what happens, if anything.  It is a small cutting, and I've never cloned honey berries before.

Yeah, a solo cup with coco or even a cell tray.  A rooting hormone would help as well, after using clonex I've become a fan.  Aloe, willow water, or a cheap rooting powder will also work, though maybe not as well as the clonex.  Also if you have fungus gnats, the larvae can eat the shit out of clones from the bottom up, quite disappointing to experience.

Never tried paper towels, I don't even use them for germinating, but I've found in general it's better to stick with tried and true methods vs experimenting with new ones when success is paramount.  It'd be cool if it works though.

This was a good idea IMO, gardening keeps you busy, gives you attainable goals, and encourages you to improve; there's always more that can be done to better your crops or garden area, and it can teach you a lot of life lessons.  Plus, it's fun to watch things grow.

Starting with cannabis is fine, but personally I would also plant things you can eat.  Tomatoes, peppers, cukes, squash, kale, carrots, or whatever you happen to like.  If you have land, some fruit trees and berry bushes or vines would be a good idea as well.

If you really get into organics, you'll eventually want to plant some dynamic accumulators and start a worm bin for compost.

Nice, starting seedlings is always fun, and they look healthy enough so far!

You can still probably decarb in a sealed decarb box, I've never tried it though.  Another option for edibles is to get some 190 proof ethanol and make RSO, then add that to some coconut oil and lecithin which can then be dosed by the drop in a dropper vial, or cooked into edibles.  I've heard if you use a rice cooker to reduce the alcohol, decarbing the flower before extraction isn't necessary, though the results may be slightly inferior to RSO produced from decarbed flower and reduced with a source turbo or ETOH pro.
