Anyone else running a Source Turbo??
    #838497 - 08/18/19 12:56 PM (5 years, 3 months ago)

I picked up one of these machines a while ago to make some concentrates for cbd and thc tinctures. I liked the idea of being able to reclaim most of the alcohol and I also was looking for something other than butane to use as a solvent.

So far I'm really liking it. I started using ethanol as my solvent about 6 months ago and I'm still using the same half gallon of Everclear that I started with.

I do a basic QWET extraction on decarbed material, then filter with a Buchner funnel prior to adding to the Source. Once the alcohol is reclaimed, I mix about an ounce of mct oil to the concentrate and stir it up and then put it in a dropper bottle. Pretty simple, happy with the results so far.

I'm hoping to see what others are using it for and how they go about it!

I'm trying to decide between a Source Turbo and a rosin press for my next purchase.  I make a lot of RSO but I want something I can dab.

I recommend adding some sunflower lecithin to your oil for increased potency.

I'd go with a press if you want to make something to dab.

I made some shatter with the Source and I wasn't too happy with it, it was just a little too harsh for my liking. I use it mainly for edibles and tinctures.

I bought a NugSmasher Mini about a year ago and I've been super happy with it. I've pressed both flower and bubble hash with good results.
