Land Race Strains

Hi,
I bought two different strains from my great caregiver earlier today (Thursday October 4th). The first one is a land race strain known as "Panama Red." As the name suggests it is native to Panama and being a land race strain it is one of the "original" pure unmixed strains indigenous to the Earth. It is a 100% sativa strain. I wanted to know if anyone has any experience with Panama Red? I would love to hear what others think of and know about this strain. The second strain I bought is a hybrid strain and is a mix of three different landrace strains. The strain is known as Sweet Tooth and is a mix of a pure Afghani, a pure Nepalese, and a Hawaiian sativa. Does anyone have experience with this strain also? Thank you for all of your help.

It's a really old strain from the 60's/70s. Mostly sativa with a red hue. It originated from Mexico.I highly doubt it's a true PR. Unless they have been holding on to 40+ years old seeds.

Really? I read that Panama red is a landrace strain native to Panama, hence the name. Why would someone name an indigenous Mexican strain "Panama red?" So you're saying that those PR seeds are pretty much non-existent now? This is one of those strains that died off for good? Plus, couldn't my caregiver have grown it from a cutting? Thanks.

It is but it's not just a strain from Panama. Many strains grow in more then one contry esp when it's a bunch of small countries that are in the same area and have the same type of conditions. In other words Panama Red goes by that name in Panama but in Costa Rica it has a different name.

The seeds are out there as long as there is a demand there will be seeds esp with a huge sativa that makes seeds by the thousands. True landrace strains may be getting harder to find cause everything is crossed with everything nowadays but you can find them, you may just have to go there to get them.
