 Talk To Me About Vaporizers

Hi all, 
I'm trying to gather some info on vaporizers. 
How do they smell in comparison to smoking?
Would they be suitable for a dorm room or would they still attract attention?
I know about the classic Volcano, but it's very expensive. Is there a more portable/hide-able option that is also high quality as well as being much cheaper?
What do you do for maintenance?
I read that vaporizers make your herb last much, much longer. How true is this?
Is the effect the same as smoking or is something lost? I'm asking primarily because I need to know how this will effect pain relief.

Significantly less odor

Probably if you're careful and not doing huge bags.

Yes there are. Others here can answer that better. I know the Arizer Extreme Q is popular

You could make hash oil in one of the kitchens on campus and then eat the oil.

Pax ftw for portability.
I'm still vapin' fat clouds with my original 4 years strong.
The extreme q is good too. But it's obviously not as portable as a pax.

There is probably zero chance I can pull that off without getting caught.  I might be able to make some before I ship out though, so oil is still a good idea. Not sure if they'll go through my stuff when I first get on campus or not. I wonder if oil can be detected by dogs? Or how long it lasts?

Me and my homie were famous for cooking oil on campus. There's still a stain on the shelves unless they painted.
Everyone flinches the first time they smoke it, when it hits them. They do a double take.
They are going to search your anal cavity if you don't get good grades.

Basically you grind up a QP of good herb. You cook it in alcohol and strain it. You repeat. You cook off the alcohol and it leaves the oil behind.
That shit is so good I used to always have a jar of it and thousands of dollars in cash in my backpack. I was lampworking glasspipes and was rich.

Ive used a butane-powered Iolite in public even Dennys. Very light vapor mist. Almost undetectable.

really calm stone from vaporizers, hookahs, E-pens... OG KUSH rips from Holden, and then I went to work on a bus, and was able to do everything, now with blue rasperberry kush I am super stoned in an insomnia way of heavy sedation, with paranoia to make it stressful, and restlessness, I fee l like laying down, but I'm way sick

Smoke a sativa out of a vaporizer. Vape only first bags during day, later bags at night if you want a clearer(daytimevsnightime) high..
Oh and I mean get a volcano idc how expensive they are you will be using it for years.
For portability stay with the same company and get a storz&bickel crafty . Buy something worth it and smoke the less hot cannabinoids for clearer highs and crank the heat for sedation.
Honestly check out fuckcombustion.com if you want all the options out there.
But what I'm telling you is best for
Flower hands down, and I burn oil out of mine too. Works wonders.

Honestly, I bought my volcano 5 yrs ago and haven't looked back.
For the price I've heard that the extremeq is great(fuckcombustion.com will tell ya that) but I second the suggestion as a very viable option.
However I haven't used one so I cannot weigh in one way or another. I have used a herbalizer which I was not at all displeased with.
The customer service I've received at s&b will keep me a customer for life.
