My first plant! Top or FIM?

Hey Guys, it's me, Maverick, if you know me from the Shroomery then yeah this is my Growery account.
I now live in a legal state and I am attempting my first marijuana grow. I have started a seed from my collection of them over the years. So far I've been growing it maybe two months, and it's getting a decent size.
I am curious if I should top them or FIM? I've read into both, but since I've never done either, there seems to be a little more risk of not doing it right if you FIM. What would you guys suggest?
Also a note on my grow, I'm doing it on my patio of my apartment- it might be legal, but I doubt my land lord appreciates it, so I want to keep it out of site, but I still want a decent size plant. It's in soil in a container, however I will probably get a larger container eventually (if suggested).

Plants look great Maverick,
All I know is, you gotta do it at the right time, and whichever section you choose to cut, topping will reduce height so if youre looking to box it up, thats your best method.

I usually cut at the fifth branch level but at that point it's trunk is almost a penny, then i get some string and start stretchin the fuckers top branchs so they're spread more it keeps me from havin to raise the light more and the branches under it catch up and it evens out
my friend topped an outdoor plant constantly and the thing got huge but it was in the ground so it was like gigantic
i also reccomend a 30 dollar jewelers microscope so you can see what the sugar looks like and what stage it's at or when all the pistols turn brown waiting like another 2 weeks

So far so good! It's a bit chilly and rainy today, but it'll get to 103F this weekend. I transplanted it into a 10 gallon (up from the 5gall in the pic) this morning.
