 just got a kinkajou. anyone else have exotic pets?

So a co worker of mine is moving... And had to get rid of there pet kinkajou. So I decided to adopt it.
Now the damn thing won't let me sleep. I know it's nocturnal, but man. It vocalizes pretty loudly.
Anyone else here have any "strange or exotic" pets?

not me personally but I have a customer with a lynx, the thing is super timid, I guess from being raised in captivity.

Lynx are cool.
I like working with big cats.
It's unreal to be face to face with something like a tiger. You don't realize how big they are until your right up on one!

Don't hear about kinkajous too often.
Ive had lots of reptiles before. A chipmunk. Some fish. Along with dogs and cats. And a parakeet for a little while.

I adopted the honey bear. She's a bit older....was retired from a zoo. Still gettin used to me.
I've had all kinds of pets in the past.
Now I don't have too many "pets", but currently work with venomous snakes.

I have no clue what a kinkajou is, what is that, some kinda bird?
I used to own two pythons, till their living expenses of live mice every week got too much so I gave them to a pet store.

They are an arboreal nocturnal little mammal. Very cute , but found out the other day that have very sharp claws.

I've always wanted one of those tegu lizards. They look so neat and really seem to have personalities. But IDK it gets really really cold here and I don't have room for a whole proper setup.
I was looking pretty extensively into getting a tortoise yesterday but those aren't so exotic.
I had to look up kinkajou. They look cute as hell. Hopefully it's just adjusting to it's new home. It's gotta be tough on any animal to be rehomed.
For now I've just got a dog and 3 cats. The cats all suck but I don't have the heart to kick their asses out. They're nice to me the majority of the time.

Yeah. She's calming down already.
Tegus are cool, but can be aggressive if not worked with early on.
And I dig tortoises. Was just doing some diet protocols for some Galapagos torts, and some pancake tortoises.
The galaps are like dogs. Love to be scratched. Ha.

Eastern rattlers and timbers hold a special place in my heart, as they say.

What I would like to keep but never did:
Eyelash viper,
Naja naja, you know what I'm talking about.
Perentie monitor,
Croc monitor,
Of course a komodo.
Some caledonian gecko species.
Flying fox,
Anything falconry,
Big cats,
All that free spirit shit right there, spirit.
Oh I've kept an ornate nile monitor, who was a fuckin handful, and a savannah monitor. Bright little dudes. I think the nile really thought I was out to take his women. He was mammal smart.
But like I said I'll never put anything in a cage.
They have these galapagos torts at the zoo up the street and they are in a "petting zoo" kind of pen, you can reach over it. And they will extend their necks if you scrach it like it was the most amazing thing they ever discovered.  They're cool as shit. Probably about 3-4 times older than me too.

Had some scorpions, a bunch of guys. I apologize for the multi post but its been awhile since I thought about things Ive "kept". Now days I like to "find" then in their natural areas. Thats my main focus now. "Look and go"...

I work with a komodo as well.
A few galaps (saddle backs)
Really too many things today list...at least on my phone.
I really have run the gambit with all types of animals.
I actually have some skulls I'm trading over at the shroomery.
But yeah...I've been working with all matter of animals my whole life really.
Pet store. Vet tech. Zoo keeper. A little bit of everything.
From your list it looks as though you've been around the blocks as well.

I hear you. I used to be all about weird expensive morphs etc. Now in really enjoy the skinks and such I can find in my backyard.
Its nice to see what's right outside and really appreciate it.

I got some ferrets and a pit bull. I think after I move out of this place and get a real house I'm just going to keep rescue pits like my little man.

All my dogs and cats, except two have been rescues. Some of the best animals Ive come across. Really smart dudes if you know how to pick them.
Short story. My brother adopted a pit/lab mix and it took forever to get him to play "ball" because when he was a pup he lived in a "darker" part of town if you catch my drift and little "darker" kids used to throw rocks at him, so he would get scared any time something was being thrown.
But we worked with him, now his favorite game is "stick". I swear man you cant clean sticks out of the yard without him trying to snag everyone you try and pick up... it doesnt matter the stick, its whichever one you're trying to pick up that he wants. Little dude is a trip.
