Nice chemies
-------------------- Bassui wrote the following letter to one of his disciples who was about to die:
"The essence of your mind is not born, so it will never die. It is not an existence, which is perishable. It is not an emptiness, which is a mere void. It has neither color nor form. It enjoys no pleasures and suffers no pains.
"I know you are very ill. Like a good Zen student, you are facing that sickness squarely. You may not know exactly who is suffering, but question yourself: What is the essence of this mind? Think only of this. You will need no more. Covet nothing. Your end which is endless is as a snowflake dissolving in the pure air."

Speed of car on an interstate relative to earth's surface: ~70mph (.031 km/s) Speed of earth's surface at 35oN latitude relative to the earth's center: 850 mph (0.38 km/s) Speed of earth relative to the sun: 67,000 mph (30 km/s) Speed of the sun relative to the center of the milky way: 536,865 mph (240 km/s) Speed of the milky way relative to the local group of galaxies: 1,300,000 mph (581,152 km/s)
That can is moving pretty damn fast, and yet if you added all of those velocities together (so if the car is driving in the same direction as the earth's spin, which in that instant is aligned with earth's motion around the sun, which is aligned with the sun's motion around the galaxy, which is aligned with the galaxy's motion relative to the local galactic group), then the total velocity of the can is 529 miles per second, or less than 0.3% of the speed of light.
And it still takes 100,000+ years moving at the speed of light to travel from one end of the galaxy to the next, and more than 2 million years to the next major galaxy.
And there are places that we can see now that we would never be able to reach at light speed because of the accelerating expansion of space between us and those objects. We can still see the light from those objects, but in reality their proper speed has exceeded the speed of light and we wouldn't be able to close the gap moving at light speed (also called the hubble horizon).

These nuts
--------------------
Learning to love life by living through loss and mistakes
Lessons learned then gradually surfacing, Letting go, stripping naked to scream
I am not perfect nor do I strive to be, I am alive in this world of face first falls and public breakdowns
I'm a retarded, disfigured clown
Dying to be heard through the simple art of letting this heavy wall finally fall
I'm an equal being of no race, or color, a hallucination if you will
Sneaking into the lives of strangers, and letting them fall apart to a new rhythm just to feel better
