That cancels the ammonia right but are you telling me those plants eat ALL the nitrates? All of them?

All I'm saying is that I'm using the nitrate test per the instructions, and it gives me a color that most closely resembles the 0ppm color indication. Whether or not its actually 0ppm, 0.5ppm, or 2.5ppm...
I will say that when i had my 60 gallon stocked similarly, I ended up having to by an NPK fert line for my tank because i couldn't feed my fish enough to keep the nitrates high enough to get the pearling that I wanted.
You can believe what you want to believe, I'll keep saying 0ppm until my tests say otherwise

That's what's up. I'm not calling bullshit or anything just curious. I've seen people run their tank water through gutter systems above their tanks so they have live plants on top and it eats up their nitrates.
More than one way to skin a cat right? I've seen people do all kinds of off the wall shit that works.

Ah I gotcha, and yea I had considered a lettuce aeroponics system to run my 60 gallon waters through...but I'm finding that a heavily planted tank, co2 injection, and a couple of good lights can really eat up some nitrates.

Dude, youre kinda inspiring me. Ive wanted a planted tank for awhile now. I could prob make some space if i sell off our sectional couch, maybe just half. That and all of my kids toys.
