coconut oil question

So, can I basically just throw herb in coconut oil, keep it on heat a bit, strain the plant matter, then use that oil for cooking normal food?
Will that little amount of processing actually extract everything with a potency?
idfk what im doing.

Yessir! It really is that easy. I usually use water because I run small batches at a time(not always enough oil to soak the material). It's almost just like how you make your tea, just on a larger scale. You can actually use any kind of oil. Coconut oil has the most fat, so it will absorb the best, but it doesn't fit with all foods. Olive oil and clarified butter work well too. If you are cooking something that needs high heat, canola oil works too.

Right on, I wouldn't have assumed that the heat from the 12 hours would have been enough if you hadn't said anything. thanks.

Honestly, I don't decarb if I am heating it that long. If you are using a slow cooker, that should fully activate your material. If using the stove on a shorter period, I would consider. Then again, just do what works for you. I get a stonier effect when I use the slow cooker without decarb first and a little racier if I do.

I use coconut oil or butter in a slow cooker with a bunch of water added. I use about an oz or two of trim per lb of butter.
Slow cook, remove and strain the herb, refrigerate. Once the coconut oil or butter is cold it will become solid which makes for easy extraction.
