Has anyone much experience in this? Are filters necessary? A fellow grower told me he threads pvc right into his in ground pools' filter reservoir outlet and pumps it along pvc into a trash can where he lets it sit for a week or two, apparently this lets some chlorine evap but this is the only account i have heard, anyone else here do something similar with pool water and how did it work. Right now my pump runoff just goes straight into the ground and i'd like to put it to use if possible

yeah that's what i was thinking too but he seems to have some success, and testable chlorine under .5 ppm, from a sustainability point of view i want this to be viable but from a cannabis farming point of view...i just dont know.
you think it'd be worth piping to the small 200 gpd RO unit i have? i guess i could reduce the pvc to 3/4 and screw the ro hose adapter on it, im just trying to figure a way to make my water stretch without major costs

It should gas out on its own if you are letting it sit. Throw some air pumps into it and it will help the chlorine dissapate even faster

Organic matter neutralizes chlorine quickly too.

Why does your pool even have run off? I have a pool and theres no run off generated by it unless i open the huge filter and clean it. And all the grass in that area is dead from salt build up.
Also, ive heard that chlorine gasses off but some chloramines do not.
