I love this place, got to hike across the island, ate shit loads of lobster, drank tons of the local brews, and made it through my first YDS Class 3 scramble up ~1000 vertical feet of boulders and scree.

Cool photos, that place looks like it'd be great for mushroom hunting. And what the fuck is up with that crazy gray house by the water? I get the feeling a scientologist owns it.
I actually live about 2 hours east of the Great Smokies. I try to schedule as many weekends for backpacking in the spring, summer, and fall. Its a great way to get away and really enjoy the outdoors that are mostly untouched while they are still here.
