I am hoping someone with a few extractions under their belt could give me a ball park estimate of potential yield with a simple bho/wax (was considering just a heat purge) extraction from bud material. I have only a little experience with butane extraction of resin but I am no stranger to other extractions and chemical processes in general. This is around 320 grams wet and should dry down to around 1 3/4 to 2 oz:
Here is a closeup to show the gland concentration, its all pretty much like this:
I know it is stretch to try to estimate something like this but I just want to get a ballpark percentage from some of you gurus out there who have done this enough to have some insight. Any suggestions or recommendations as far as process, solvent, purge, etc... relative to yield potential are also helpful.

if ur doin bho (with premo buds) on 2 dry oz's.... im gonna say u should get 6-9gms
i usually keep the buds, and bho the nice trim. I get 2-4 grams per oz of trim. So with frosty buds id say u will get more.
these days im all about the bubble hash. but i would not do it on 2 oz's of nice weed

Thanks for the feedback PO. As you can tell, I'm trying to decide to process or not to process based on yield potential. Good trim that continues to accumulate will get processed of course.

do you like edibles?
u could put 6-8 grams into coconut oil and have a dozen good cookies .

Edibles are good and I have made tincture previously but I am more interested in vaporizing this bit (or just smoke). The only problem I have with smoking this particular chop is that it is a tad premature so I'm considering oil.

well iso oil yields more, but its not as strong (and takes more time to purge). It tends to absorbs the chlorophyll and other stuff too.

Always thought iso extraction was not ideal. I do have some lab grade hexane...

Had some issues testing out a new additive and partially nute burned the next batch which will come down in about a week (two week per harvest perpetual "micro grow"). Decided to use that batch for oil and keep these buds unprocessed.
Will do some research and purchase a vac chamber (have been wanting one for a while anyway) to do a vac purged hexane extraction. Will start a new thread to document - may even get out the lab glass
