i prefer quartz. i think its cleaner and safer. those titanium nails may say "medical grade titanium" but that doesnt mean it's meant to be heated up to 500+ degrees and smoked off of.

Titanium is nice because it's real sturdy. But I prefer quartz because it tastes cleaner, heats up/cools down faster, and it's cheaper.

I use a quartz banger and now I like dabs quite a bit. Before getting one I kind of hated dabbing.

So sleepy, you feel the banger is leaps and bounds better than the titanium? How did it change your experience on dabbing?

I disagree with all you guys saying Quartz can break. It is unfortunate that this gets pushed around on all forums. Too lazy to source, but a simple Google search of Mohs scale of mineral hardness shows that titanium rates a 6 on a 1-10 scale. Quartz rates a 7. The reason people feel that quartz can break is unfortunately at a lot of lhs are pushing boro for Quartz or poor quality Quartz. Using Quartz you should not have to worry about breaking it even if you threw it.. On concrete.

Oh for sure. All the little pieces I could misplace (like the dome), or set aside and get pet hair on (like what ever you're using to put your dab on the nail) when using a traditional setup is just silly compared to just heating the thing up and dropping your hit in like using a banger.

Damn, excuse me. Using mohs hardness scale is foolish to say that a material won't break if you throw it. My bad, however... I still stand by the fact you can throw some Quartz nails and they won't break.
Sleepy, could you run a test?

Ive heard quartz can be torched red hot and then dumped into water and it will not break.

Quartz is my winner.  It should be yours too.   Titanium just has such a nasty metal taste to it after a little while.  Quartz never has any taste at all.  None.  Ever.  But BE CAREFUL!  There are a TON of fake quartz nails out there.  They'll flame up like crazy on their own.  Quartz doesn't require seasoning and it cleans itself with a torch blasting.  Do you guys wait at all after you heat it up?  On the banger/honey pot I usually wait about 40 seconds to take the dab.
