So far out of 58 onboard 28 were confirmed killed, 15 pulled out alive and 18 still missing.
It's a sad day. Asia really needs to step up their air-travel game.

I will look further into it, meanwhile, here's a video of some of the aftermath. That plane really fucked up one of those cars, I hope nobody was hurt.

Let's see, apperantly it came down shortly after take-off. "veered out of control". Blackboxes were recovered... Here we go

FAACK, seen that video before but never knew that actual cause of the accident. You would think that a plane with all the cargo to the back of it would descend backwards not nose first.

It was nose up at first and that caused a stall then the nose swung down.
That is some crazy shit as well, big airplanes scare the shit out of me I would never pilot those things.

i don't like that video where they are haulin' em out and their on the boat being taken to shore. they look pretty beat up. terrible incident.

Im not saying it is, I have no doubt its real it just doesn't look real to me. Looks like special effects or something. I guess just because Im not used to seeing the a passenger plane fall from the sky and clip a bridge unless its in a movie.

The frame per second rate of this video is very low, and it gives it a slow-motion-but-not effect.

Update:
Blackbox data shows that the right engine lost thrust and the left engine eventually shut down. Plane may have been without thrust for almost 1 minute before stalling.
Death Toll: Raised to 40, 15 survivors, 3 still unaccounted for but presumed dead.

Just awful.
I heard that the pilot intentionally shut down one of the engines and they were trying to refire both of them.
Apparently he was a really good pilot too with fighter jet experience.

That is my understanding as well. It's understood that the people who survived likely wouldn't, had he or someone of commensurate experience not been piloting.
He has my highest respects for maintaining such a presence of mind to control the outcome to the degree he did.
