STARKE, Fla. -- A traffic stop in Starke Tuesday night for swerving led to felony drug and weapons charges for a NFL player, authorities said Wednesday.
According to the Starke Police Department, an officer stopped a 2015 Dodge Ram driven by Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Letroy Shelton Guion, Jr. near the 2300 block of North Temple Avenue just after 11 p.m. As the officer approached the car, he could smell a "strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle," police said.
Police said Guion, Jr., who was allegedly hanging partially out of the driver's window, asked the officer if he knew who he was. That's when the officer had Guion, Jr. exit the vehicle. He then radioed for backup.

Asked if he had anything illegal in the truck, Guion, Jr., admitted he had a gun registered to him inside the vehicle, police said. When backup arrived, officers searched the vehicle and recovered a 9mm handgun.
As officers continued their search, the Starke native allegedly grew "extremely uncooperative and hostile," at one point even "rushing" the driver's side of the truck. Guion, Jr. was handcuffed and detained after trying to remove a black bag from the truck, police said.
Officers then searched the bag, finding a large amount of what appeared to be marijuana inside -- roughly 357 grams of the substance, investigators said. Also inside the black bag? More than $190,000 in cash.
Because the drugs and cash were found inside the same container, police said, investigators seized the cash. Guion, Jr.'s vehicle was towed and he was arrested.
