Bittorent / μtorrent clients are crap-- Any recommendations for alternatives?

These programs are buggy as hell, if you haven't noticed.
I've had the issue where the client tells you that you already have the .torrent file and won't put the torrent in your list. And yeah, I've looked under Labels > Hidden, but the torrent isn't always there.
Some settings won't stick or take after a while, either, like having bitchtorrent prompt you as to where you want to store your download. It just doesn't happen. It's maddening.
Almost 0 fixes work for the issues I've come across and the only way to rectify the situation is to uninstall the client and then re-install. I've experienced the same issues with both bitchtorrent and βtorrent. Any recommendations for Windows programs alternatives?
I'm about to boot up my old Linux box and launch transmission, motherfucker.
Unless you guys know of any good programs, of course.

It might be buggy 'cause I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.
I have a native installation of Windows 8 32-bit I can run it on to test.
I'll have to grab an HDMI cable, but I think I may do that, for science!
Which OS are you running? What do you have for RAM? (Make)

you're overthinking this. utorrent is a small program, doesnt fuck with my computer at all, so idk why youre having problems.

I just asked because my memory has been buggy at times, but when it acts up I'll get a total freeze. That only happens if I push my hardware, though. If I run everything at stock speeds, I'm fine.
On second thought if the computer is running fine then the RAM is most likely fine; I've always passed my memtest+ tests. Also, my computer is operating smoothly.
420, good point, were you running the 64-bit client? 420, have you run into these issues?

I'm pretty sure the programming is simply sub par.
I'll post links to the issues I've experienced and look into alternatives and report back when I'm not on my mobile.

I was just asking because if you are running a 32 bit program on a 64 bit.computer that could be the issue

I've tried both with similar results.
I'll continue to use them, it's just an annoyance. Anyone who thinks these programs are perfect are either lying to themselves or have little experience in using them.

OK, so here are some examples of what I've seen:
"The torrent you are trying to add is already in the list"
This happens to me and half of the time I can find it under Labels > Hidden, but sometimes I can't, and the posted fixes don't work for me.
My other issue I can't even find online. To be fair, I only spent roughly 15 minutes searching, but you know you're probably shit out of luck if you're browsing page 7 of a google search looking for your answer.
Anyway, sometimes the clients won't let me choose where to save my download. It keeps trying to write the files to the drive the program is installed on. I've tried moving the folder and other recommendations I've seen for other issues and they don't seem to work.
OK, enough bitching about Bittorent. Time to move on to alternatives.
I'm going to install Transmission-Qt Win and try it out. I've never had issues with the Linux version.
Also, disregard my mentioning RAM earlier, lol, I was way off and I'm surprised someone didn't call me on my bullshit. I don't even know why I said that, haha. Anywayyy I think bittorent sucks simply because it's buggy. I'll report back with how Transmission-Qt Win treats me.

I run JSTorrent on my chromebook and download torrents via kickass.to.
Sometimes I'll get the odd torrent that just won't download or downloads incredibly slow (>10b/sec) but I'd say about 95% of the time they download quickly without issue.
I gave up on torrenting on my laptop because of the high chance of getting a virus of some sort. That's the great part about torrenting on the chromebook - no chance of a virus.

Transmission-Qt is excellent.
In 3 months it's only crashed once.
It remembers my preferences for saving files and is easy to use. Like many Linux programs it has a simple, minimalistic, utilitarian design.
I use PeerBlock and have never seen a piracy letter arrive at my house! I've amassed about 1 TB of data. So far, so good.
