Juno was a female roman war-god associated with vital force. She is regaled as the Destroyer of Opposition, bearing the epithet of Indra, "Verethragna" or "smiting of resistance". She was mentioned in Shakespeare's "The Tempest", and her memory resides with us today as the name of the month "June", however her main festival was on Feb 1 - the whole month of february being considered a dangerous temporal shift when the cosmic year comes to the end and the clearly defined lines between the underworld and this one become a blur of uncertainty.
The community would pray to juno sopista, "The saviour", during this period of time.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but am I the only one that thinks that (aside from Massachusetts flooding in some areas) Juno was completely blown out of proportion?
But, I mean, elsewhere- is one foot of snow really that extraordinary an experience for the East Coast of the United States?
I mean, common, there's dudes walking around with skis
^Mass. flood waters. Seems pretty serious.
