I live near the desert here in So Cal. And its fucking snowing! I've only seen this once in the 12 years I lived here. Granted the snow melts as soon as it hits the ground but still.

Damn nice, it's just raining and gloomy here in the city. I read that Vegas is getting over night snowfall, up to 3 inches!

A little snow is fine, but being in a lot without proper snow gear sucks monkey balls.
I've had a habit of being around during random snowfalls. Once during the big blizzard of middle Georgia in the early 90's, another time several years ago, and another time in Portland when they had a first snowfall in a few years. Here in the valley it's just been cold all day. Hopefully it snows so my dog can play in it.

all i remember is being a crazy child playing in a blizzard and seeing naught but a few inches in front of me. it's probably the same storm you're thinking of. this was about two hours south of atlanta in warner robins.

For a primer reference that describes the why and how of weather modification, check out Weather As A Force Multiplier: Owning The Weather In 2025. This describes the methods of ionospheric heating, aerosol spraying, and computer networking required to tie it together. This was over 20 years ago, yet provides charts showing how much of what method would be used out to the year 2025.
Fast forward to 2015. The "Crazy Weather" such as the polar vortex is now a largely manufactured "phenomenon".
Brevity precludes more details but the "gist" of it is jet stream redirection, low pressure destruction where needed etc. to alter the pattern. It's a worldwide operation, the 800 lb. gorilla in the room that "maintains" the polar vortex month after month as California and the West Coast dries up...

I have been freezing my ass off this week. Kinda sad considering it is 65F. It is kind of unusual for it to be under 75F though.

I remember when that happened, I was in kindergarten at the time.
Where I live in NC, there was about 18 inches total.
There was another large snow up here in the winter of 2001-2002. We had drifts in excess of a foot. Not much if you are from the Northeast or the midwest, but for us in the southeast it was enough to cancel school for nearly a week.

I'm near ya but I'm in the So Cal desert mountains and it's been snowing all night here. I'm for sure stuck cause I don't have chains. The sun is showing itself and I hope it melts the water in my hoses cause I got reservoirs to change.
