pollenation to seed time?
    #754821 - 10/27/14 06:00 PM (10 years, 23 days ago)

I'm wondering how long it takes for seeds to fully form after pollenating a plant?

Usually about 3 to 4 weeks.

thanks. are you supposed to pollenate early? like when pistils are first showing? or is it better to pollenate when the flowers are fully formed?

You can do either way but if you wait till the flower is fully formed and still with healthy white hairs you're going go get more seeds.

OOOOOOOOoo shit , so if a plant gets pollinated the first week or two in flower it  will only get a coup[le seeds?

 I thought that the hole plant would grow nothing but seeds. plus i thought that the plant would stop making pistils and just concentrate on making seeds? I mean there would some bud, but did you ever see buds that were nothing but seeds. I dont want that. Maybe if Im going to make my own seeds.

Thanks for sparking my interest again in breeding Mag.

Thanks. I just put pollen on a plant that's about to be ready to harvest, it can still form seed if I wait longer, right?

No, only the flowers that got pollen will form seeds. Once pollinated the plant stops forming flowers in that bud and focuses on seed formation. Wait till the bud is more formed and there are more flowers to pollinate.

As long as the hairs you put the pollen on were white and healthy. Be careful for male flowers. They tend to show up when a plant goes past it's maturity time and you have at least 3 weeks for seeds to form.
