Hey guys, I came over from the Shroomery to share a second grow, on behalf of a friend of a friend, for the purpose of criticism and general feedback. As such, all first person pronouns in this log such as, but not limited to: I, me, we, our, us, etc. refer to my friend of a friend, and not myself. He is cultivating 4 Auto Blue Mystic plants, and plans to do LST with two of them. I am using eight 23W (100w equivalent) CFLs, starting with 7500K and changing to 2500K for the last few weeks each light emits 1600 lumens.
The soil being used is Pro-Mix Organic Vegetable & Herb which is a personal favorite, a large amount of perlite was mixed in to increase aeration and drainage. The light cycle is 24-0 for the first 5-7 days, followed by 18-6 for the rest of their life. Temperature may fluctuate plus or minus a few degrees, but will be kept around 20C (68F). My grow box is in the same room as my tools, and work bench so the design is semi-stealth because it blends in quite well.
Day 1: 3/4 of my seeds have germinated and planted, using damp paper towel in a plastic bag.
Germination time was roughly 45hrs, although one seed has been sitting for 72hrs and shown no signs of germination (never had this happen before, although it sinks when placed in a glass of water, so it has clearly absorbed some). Being impatient, a fifth seed was placed in a glass of water for 5 hours, and placed it in a paper towel. If the other seed germinates along side the fifth one, the grow will be expanded to 5 plants, if not, meh it's only one seed lost.
All seeds were placed in a red solo cup with the bottom cut off, and the soil inside the cup was raised about 3 inches from the rest of the pot. (the little aluminum trays are wheatgrass)
My FOAF is told that as roots reach the sides of the cup, the taproot is encouraged to tunnel deep into the main pot, thus creating a healthier root system. A 2L pop bottle with the bottom cut off and tiny holes poked in it was placed over each cup until seedlings reached ~2cm to retain humidity and heat.
Day 3: All 3 seedlings that have been planted have poked through the surface and are already developing their first true leaves. Plant 2 is the one that is still germinating.

Day 8: Growth so far has been phenomenal. Plant 2 was planted late, hence the lack of apparent growth, however I have noticed that it seems to be stretching visibly more than others. I added 4 more 23W cfls and a small computer fan. I am going to home depot tomorrow to buy some metal halide lighting as well as materials for a rudimentary ventilation and air filtration system.
Plant 1:
Isn't she sexy
Plant 2:
Notice that the ovular leaves are quite high up...
Plant 3:
Plant 4:
Tips are yellowing slightly.

For a CFL grow, those babies aren't stretching too much.
I can't tell what the faint yellowing is from yet... Someone else, maybe?

Is it possible that it's already showing signs of potassium deficiency? I'm afraid to add any nutes at such a young age for fear of burning it, not sure what to do yet. Will keep updating.

Day 21: Massive growth in the past two weeks, although plant 2 isn't looking the best. I accidentally burnt two of the leaves, and it shocked the plant. I started low stress training on plant 1, and a node has shown great growth, and is level with the main node at the moment.
Plant 1: The picture doesn't do justice to just how bushy this little bastard has become, by far the best growth of the four.
Plant 2: Looks really sad compared to the others. Seems to be recovering decently from it's accidental mutilation.
Plant 3: Three and four are looking pretty similar right now; nice thick stems and great branching.
Plant 4: Might just be the lighting, but those fan leaves on the bottom left look a little funky.
