 How much did your grow set up cost?

I'm looking at a set up that would cost about 400-500 and grow 4 plants at a time. Is that too expensive for a new grower?
Also, I find so many guides online and they all have varying information and I don't know which is the most credible source. Say I'm only growing for personal use and want 3-4 plants at most at a time? Money isn't too much of an issue, but I wouldn't like to be dropping a lot on this. What kind of equipment should I get?
Basically I just dont know how I should setup my grow room and the lights...
This is what I got so far, but does it make sense with 4 plants and the wattage of the lights/space of grow room?

Mines like 500 so far and that's not even counting the fan, filter and seeds. How do I make mine be that much?!

Hmmm mine average out around 600 to 1000 per nine square feet.
I recommend going with a sun systems, galaxy, or next gen when it comes to ballasts these days. bulbs horilux, or ultra sun
1000 watt / 16 square feet
600 watt / 6 to 9 square feet
400 watt / 6 or less square foot
The link to that tent looked a bit small honestly.

Yeah most definitely Hortilux for flowering (Super HPS)
And I like Ultra Sun for vegetative.
I haven't tried a Hortilux bulb for vegetative, they are pretty pricey, something like $250 for 1000w MH.
I have a Lumatek ballast $300 (I would never buy another one), get another brand like mentioned.
And a SunSystems Magnum XXL hood $220
So $520 on ballast and hood, then about $110 for a Hortilux Super HPS bulb
Total $630 for light setup (1000w)

hell yeah. dude, 5 bags knocked up fit perfectly into a 66qt tub. no mess, no nothing. 3 days i get my bags and knock up. i pull an average pound from a tub, give or take. 75.00 aint shit especially if i dont have to do anything.

no.
between a job and kids and other shit... making my own jars/ bags is also hard to hide especially with family and friends showing up randomly and unannounced.
the bags come unmarked and i can knock them up in my room in a matter of minutes without anyone knowing. might wreak of lysol for 10 minutes, but thats about it.
the whole process is cheap, easy to hide, and easy all around. a 75.00 investment aint shit.
