So guys just wondering what got you guys into the Grateful dead?
For me my friend and I were blazing in a old empty trailer and my friend puts on 'Ripple'. I have heard the dead in the past but when I heard that song it was like I got shot with a diamond bullet.
I would like to think my ayahuasca/mushroom trip enhanced my love for the dead when I saw a video of ripple live.
There is actually a shop around here named after one of their songs. I went to it when I was like 14 and turned out to be a hippie shop with records, cds, books, dvds, everything hippie.
I asked the owner where the name of the store came from and she told me. She told me if I bought one of their CDs she would give me a 15% discount on it. I ended up getting American Beauty, Type O negative:After Dark DVD, and the Psilocybin of the World book by Paul Staments.
Never actually read the book for another 3 years.lol.
I remember putting the CD on in my room and my mom busting in sniffing around seeing if she could smell weed. She told me " I know what people do who listen to that kind of music, so don't think I wont catch you".LOL
Great tunes, but I loved the Grateful Dawg music a hell of a lot more. Forgot the guy he collab'd with, but I just dug it a little bit more.
