is there some sort of chromosomal testing you can do to determine an animals age?

they can make speculations.
like they say if a human lives on a low calorie diet consisting of mainly vegetables a human can live 120 years (non freak occurrence)
they can make assumptions from organ deterioration and metabolism and such.

i grabbed some sea turtles the other day
but keep that shit on the d/l
i didnt know it was a big no no
i just imagined holding one that would swim me to a pearl bed.
but at the same time i was chicken to just jump and get on one cuz i didnt know if they bite

Maybe they caught a baby sea turtle. Kept it in a aquarium and see how long until it died?

Currently there is not an adequate method of aging sea turtles. The most accepted method, aside from observing a turtle from the time it hatches, is to study growth rings of the scales on the carapace and plastron. Scientists count the rings and use a mathematical formula to estimate a turtle's age.

I know with fish they do calculations based on metabolic rates and organ decline to calculate expected life spans.
Such as Arowana's that sell for 50+ thousand dollars.

asian ones don't (not commonly)
the amazon ones jump 10+ feet in the air to eat bugs, birds, monkeys
so do south american ones.

when I was really into aquariums (not out of it completely) someone I know and have met built a 50 and 15k gal aquarium and another person who lives 10km from him made a crocidle and arowana enclousure)
monsterfishkeepers is a crazy forum if your into that shit.
I have the glass for a 1000/1080gal aquarium build just waiting to have a pernament residence, shit's costing me $20 a month to store.

they're all the same but the asian ones don't need to get their food from jumping so I guess they never adapted to jumping for food.

it probably tastes good for a fish
it seems to be a lean fish and it's one of the more aggresive ones
you can buy a small silver one for 50$ and eat that when it's bigger if you really wanna know...
