Mark my words when I say Roger won't be the last. Modern western society is filled with people raised with no values, no ethics and no compassion. And this, I believe, will ultimately be the downfall of modern-day materialistic American society which teaches immorality rather than morality

Honestly I think both of you are right. It seems both are to blame. The authorities for not taking the matter more seriously and the parents for allowing this kid to be left to his own self inflated ego.

Realistically though, the authorites have so much more going on that a depressed young man who listens to metal isn't really a huge priority. Not when you think of the child abuse/neglect and molestation issues going on as well with younger children. Maybe its an honest mistake on their part that he was overlooked.

Also the parents did seem like they made a diligent effort to fix the problems, but really it seems like they started working on a problem that was already too far gone for what they were trying.

Maybe Society is to blame for this shit. Generation Me and so forth. Everyone is so out for themselves and built up as a child to believe that they cant fail, I.E. Participation trophies.lol. When failure does occur it seems like some people just cant face it and go on. Guess the same goes for rejection.

But really I agree with ya both. It is just ridiculous that anyone thinks killing innocent people is an answer for their problems. Hell I can understand a chick cutting a cheating husband's dick off or a man ripping his wifes tits off with a machete and slicing her lover up. Its a personal thing. But to just randomly run out and kill someone just cause they showed up first doesn't really make sense to me.

There was probably a lot of things that went into this kid doing what he did, no one just goes on a killing
rampage because they are a 22 year old virgin. Maybe it was a little bit of society acting like it's not okay
to be a virgin at that age. Maybe it was a little bit of bad parenting, a little bit of asbergers, the rejection,
it probably all built up.

I bet if he had good parents though, they would have noticed some signs that would have stopped all of this
from happening.

TL;DR:

He should have just went to a party, and sparked up a joint. He would have gotten some friends, and
probably talked to some chicks. Instead he sat at home making youtube videos about how no one loves
him, while his parents ignored it.
