Humans were not the first to cultivate mushrooms

According to Mushrooms Demystified by David Arora (great read so far!).
Quote:
Human beings, incidentally, are not the only ones to cultivate fungi, and were by no means the first. That honor belongs to certain ants and termites who raise fungi in their nests. On almost any walk through a tropical rain forest you can see long files of leaf-cutting ants carrying bits of leaves to their nests. These leaves are not food for the ants, but food for fungi upon which the ants feed!

How long until mushrooms cultivate humans though?
-------------------- Of course it's happening inside your head.
Why should that mean it isn't real?

Even cooler is the Cordyceps Mushroom that grows INSIDE the ant and takes over control of the ant and uses it as a hosts before it destroys the whole colony

Cordyceps is actually used medicinally if I am not mistaken...
I looked into cultivating it back in the day but it is extremely hard to do

Nah, never cultivated any edibles. Never saw the profit margins in it. I liked turning a 20-30$ investment into 1200-1500$.. that's the kinda business I like to be in..

30.00? Mines always a 70.00 investment. I do it the lazy way and buy premade bags and cube syringes. I can pull close to a pound every time so 70.00 aint shit considering there's little to no work.

Yeah I dont ever do anything pre-made.. It's not just the cost, I just dont trust someone else to sterilize/pausterize the material I am trusting with 1000-1500$ worth of profit..
I dont even buy spores from vendors after my first grow, I always make my own syringes because I know exactly how they are prepared and if I ever did have a problem, I would have only myself to blame...
But I do know a lot of people who have gone to using pre-made stuff
My investment was probably less than 20$ actually... 5 bucks for bird seed and maybe 8-10 bucks for coir (when bought in bulk)
