i have no children but was wondering about this. do you just tell them what you believe? tell them about the major beliefs and let them decide? tell them to go read a book? say hes real like you would santa clause?

It will honestly depend on the age of the kid and how the question was asked.
There's no easy answer for a questions like that.

For me it was easy. My kids were aware of the topic of santa claus before god. We had the chance to explain to them the elaborate lies that other children were subjected to for the sake of tradition and their parents' entertainment. When they asked about god we shared our personal beliefs (my wife and I have very different ideas). We both told them what we thought and we told them how everyone else has different beliefs, all just as important to them.
Then we told them to decide for themselves, but take their time and be willing to change as they learn. Anyone trying to rush them or scare them to any conclusions is just trying to manipulate them for their own purposes.

I am not a cannabis grower. I find the cannabis growers to be the most open to experimenting and sharing out of all of the different botany groups I enjoy. I frequently use the suggestions that I find to apply to own organic gardening and food production.

Ya im not gonna lie about santa to my kids. I was fuckin crushed when i found out there was no magic man who gave kids presents. Thats some heavy shit to find out as a child. Christmas should be about family not about a fake magic man who ride a flying sleigh .

That sucks man. I was in similar boat. My parents kept lying after I told them I figured it out. They kept insisting. I can't say for absolute certain that it why I started questioning them about the Roman Catholic faith, but my questions about church/god came pretty shortly afterwards,

You raise your kids to be productive powerful intelligent empathetic humans. If there's a God involved in a pre traveled path to meet those goals then yeah you yell your kids about your God and the path that allowed you to reach those goals.

I'd tell them the truth, that no one knows.
I'd then move on to explain how there are many beliefs and that there is many because of different opinions. Lastly i'd encourage them to develop an opinion on the matter by them selves.
I wish i had kids.  Not in the right stage of my life at the moment though, so gotta get over it.

Which IMO is that it doesn't matter, there more than likely isn't a god, but live a good life, and if there is a god who is deserving of your presence he should accept you, and if he doesn't accept you just because you didn't worship him then he doesn't deserve your company anyway.
No way we're celebratiung christmas or any other made up ridiculous christian holiday in my house though...
