Let's make some Bubble Hash!

I've never made bubble hash with a Bubble Now washer before. I couldn't find much on the web on the best ways to use it, so I thought I'd share my experiences :vaped:

So here's my 20 gal washer w/ the 20 gal bubble bags to the left of it. I went out and bought a 20 gallon Rubbermaid trash can and cut the handles of the sides. The bubble bags slide down over it perfectly :grin:

On the floor you can see the plant material I will be using. I weighed up a lb of shake/popcorn to use for this run. The washer can fit 2-2.5 lbs at a time.

To start I added 20lbs of ice to the bottom of the washer.

Then I dumped a layer of ice into the "fill bag".....placed it in the washer... dumped the plant material inside and then topped off the fill bag with ice and sealed it shut.

I filled the water level up to this lil filter on the inside of the washer. Now it's ready to mix! I set the washer on normal for 15 mins on and then let it sit for 20 mins or so. then I let it run for another 15 mins on the soft setting. I let it sit for another 20 mins after the final spin.

So here's what I pulled off the 160 micron bag. I'm surprised with how blonde it is. I expected it to be a bit more green.

I got a mini washing machine online last summer for bubble hash. a mod here recommended it, and im glad i got it! mixin that ice by hand is a pain.

are you gonna press it ? (that my favorite part)

yeah these washers make it so fucking easy. I should have gotten one a long time ago. I just use the pressing screen and then break it up into little chunks and let it dry. I don't do anything with it after that.

i got the washer for free at work, the outer case had a crack on the back side of it. The hydro store owner gave it to me when the replacement unit was shipped to the shop. :grin:

how many times do you run your trim through the washer? I ran mine 3 times. I feel like could have got a few more grams had i washed a 4th time. But i ran outta ice didn't want to go get more. :shrug:

Im pretty lazy. I usually do it...leaf = 1 round, bud trim = 2 rounds, (mid?) bud = 2 or 3 rounds

with dry ice i do one round = huge yeild, quick, easy, but lower grade . more of greenish keif then ice hash (no one wants to buy it)

I got a buddy who used to get me to save a couple liters of the left over hash wash water for him. he would drink it and said it got him ripped

Im doin a HUGE batch right now.

2-3ps of trim and a hp of PREMO purple kush

the trim came from a huge industrial trimmer machine. and the buds got a funky smell (not moldy.... but has that "dingy" smell) . So he wanted me to turn it all into ice hash today.

bought 8 bags of ice. and the washing machine is all set up :hi5:

2 tips:

-buy a mini washing machine (cheap on ebay).... these bad boys do all the hard work for u. Before i had mine i used to use a paint mixing in a drill. The washing machine saves sooooo much time and effort

- Get Quality bags!!!!!! i own 2 sets. one expensive set (not bubble bag brand tho), and 1 cheap set (came with washing machine).

The good bags take longer to drain and are harder drain (This is GOOD!!!!) cheap bags aint sealed proper so the shittier grade gets into the better stuff.

Those bags in the link look decent tho. they aint no $40 set thats for sure (cheap ebay ones)

Makin bubble hash is kinda pain (more work then oil).... but the end product is Amazing (as im sure you know)

Im all done for the day.... Cant wait to dry and press then post a pic for you guys :cool:

ill just be buying the bags for now. i dont wanna buy a washing machine quite yet. planning on moving to the big island this summer to set up shop out there. the less i own right now, the better.

Yeah gets the job done but sucks. I usually have a dude down the street come over and mix for me. Throw him a couple dubes and some of the lower grade shit and hes happy as hell. No tired arms for me! :aweohyou:

This is where im at so far.

I busted it all to powder (helps drying and makes pressing easier).

I also went through it all with a flashlight and tweezers (taking out every lil white hair.) Most bubble bags leave small white hairs in the hash. You can really notice it when its pressed. People ask me "why is there white cat hair in this hash?" . So i just spend 30-60 mins now and take all the hairs so i dont hear bitchin later.

Its almost all dried. the one is still moist so i gotta wait till late tonight or tomorrow.

I once pressed moist hash, went to mexico for a week. when i came back my hash block had mold growing on it (they were in a bag). So ill never make that mistake again!!!

heat is KEY to a GREAT press... hard to get temp/time perfect tho.

Too low and wont press good. too long and it turns to a gooey mess.

Oh yeah. Been gettin stoned as fuck with my trimmin crew for the past 5 days. Between the scissor hash and the bubble hash the past few days have been a blur :lol:

Final weight was about 2.5 oz of good quality blonde. I've got another 20 grams or so from the 160 micron bag too, but i don't think it'll be worth smoking. I think i'll make pills or tincture from it.

Tbh i was a little disappointed with the yield. I could have taken the same amount of plant material and made several hundred more ifi had made RSO instead.
