 Blue Cheese grow

Got my new room going. I'll be running some blue cheese mostly with some chem and a couple of less important randoms. Cuts pooped roots about a week ago and are now starting to veg under 1000 watts of mh. Probably going to veg out another 2-3 weeks then flip to 3000w of hps. May run a double trellis may just use stakes I'm not too sure at this point. I'll have a couple group photos posted tonight.
I will be running a side by side comparison of H&G Root Excelurator and Tappin Roots all the way through with the first feeding being Thursday.

I wanted to initially but may just give everything something. Still kicking ideas around with feeding. If I do there will be more more than 2 with no root additive.

So heres the girls as of a couple days ago. I just gave them their first feeding when this pic was taken, and there is already new growth since then. Ill try and upload a pic a week to document the growth. I will be feeding most of them House and Garden Soil line and growing in FFOF mixed up with perlite or maybe just a bag of air mix from Botanicare well see when i transplant in a few days.
Also i will pull 2 plants aside when i they hit 1 gallon pots and start giving them the Tappin Roots in place of the Root Excel. The dosage between the two are very different (.5ml/gallon RE and 4ml/gallon TR) but i dont think that should make a difference in overall food to plant. Decided against depriving a test plant the supplement since i don't think anyone here is going to contest whether or not adding RE is a worthy investment. Enjoy

Ehh from a scientific perspective I'm a little bothered about the lack of a control, as it really helps clarify what's doing what.
But I can totally understand why you wouldn't want to leave a plant with nothing, that could be affecting your plant health/yield by the end of it, etc.

i think harry is right cuz each strain yields differently so that should be a factor as well as the nutes. you will have a lot more info about your plant(likes/dislikes/nutrient tolerance and uptake). if your limited with space i would understand why you wouldnt want to do that tho.

As a new grower I can't say shit because I'm 100% sure you can grow better plants than me and I can see why you wouldn't want to leave any plants lacking, and hell, do whatever you want to your grow. We're lucky you're sharing it at all, and for that I thank you.
But as a supporter of utilizing proper scientific method, this hurts me just a little bit.

I'm using RE on all but 2 and those 2 will be fed TR in place of RE to determine ONLY if it compares overall to RE.
Transplanting tonight to 1 gallons. I'll upload a pic of the progress. Kicked up the light to 750w from 600w. Once they are all sprawled out I'll bump it up to 1000w and start training.

Alright its time for an update. Ive got everyone transplanted over into appx. 1 gallon pots. Ill crank the ballast up to 1k and raise the light one more time then move them again to 3 gallon pots where they will hang till harvest. There is great growth across the board.
Now time for the side by side. I started 2 test plants with TR in place of RE and will really start seeing a difference, if any, from this point on.

Now this sad piece of hell will be the true testament. This was a freebee from a dispensary that was:
1)way to fucking big for being in rockwool with almost ZERO roots popping out.
2) had a touch of PM
3) its a freebee so how good can it get?
This thing had some bad transplant shock going from a cube as a teen to Fox Farm Light Warrior then got put on the back burner while i handled other shit. There are some new roots but not much. I also ran out of pots so i cut up a milk container to give this thing one last shot before i plant it outside. before i covered up the root ball i sprayed the heck out of it with a TR solution. Lets see if this chode plant rebounds.

So this is what's happening now. I'm feeding all but 2 plants Root Excel and the other 2 Tappin Roots in place. So far so good the TR seems to at least be keeping up. I'll move up to 3 gallons in a few days and see if the root balls do look more/as developed. This group will be blooming under 3k over 3 hoods in another 10 days or so. Need to square away minor odds and ends before really getting this party started. All I know at this point is these plants are all very happy and im gonna smoke the hell out of some rad cheese come june.

Strange curling on the leaves of some of the og in the room and a similar curl on one of the blue cheese. Not familiar with this and if azamax doesn't clear it up before flower I may just bomb the room or dare think it use avid.

Sorry to bombard with pics without captions but not interested in screwing with formatting on the phone. That first pic is the best root ball of the Root Excel and the other root shots are Tappin Roots. This is the first time I've used any root simulator products and I'm not seeing much more if anything from using nothing. The TR does look better but one thing I noticed is the myco beneficials are more prevalent in the RE pots where as the TR had no signs of mycelium binding to roots however they where pretty dry before transplanting. One thing is for sure and that is that everyone is growing and very happy.

So one thing I have noticed in the TR is there are more profound purple racing stripes down the whole stalk into the newest growth but there's obviously no signs of stress or cold and the rest of the crew is only showing that in 50% or so of the growth if at all. Behold.
And a pic of a common stalk with RE. Though some do have the purple as well to some extent.

Quickie update. Shit it's looking great. A bit bigger than planned but it'll be fine I'm sure. Going to clean up the bottoms and take cuttings then flip. The fun starts now.

Looking good man. As far as the purple on the stems you mentioned, I think that is related to potassium, but not necessarily an issue to be concerned with, it is just somehow related to potassium but I'm not quite sure how. I think it may be an excess of potassium but not harmful at all to the plant, just means it has plenty of what is needs. It happens often to my plants.

Yeah more blue than cheese for sure. It is lanky like a sativa but bushy as a son of a bitch. This pic is after trimming off a bucket worth of under brush.

Following up on the whole tappin roots aspect. The 2 test plants are among the smallest but I'm still giving them a dose on top of the standard base.

Not worse just had the disadvantage of not getting that same root ball. Ill check that at harvest. Might want to give them better placement under lights.

So I'll be harvesting in a few days or so. I started flushing a few days back and the ladies are fat and stinky in the good way. Some pretty nasty mites developed over the past very day's that I'll just have to keep manually ridding but should not effect much. Started using a product on the veg plants called Stylet Oil that I'll post something up about if it ends up being worth writing home about in regards to spider mites.
