Ballsach's 2014 weedapalooza.

Woops, I did this. I have 3 Headband and 3 OG18 (possibly the dumbest strain name of all time, but it's supposed to be delicious).
A friend gave me 6 weird, lanky plants. So I put them in 5 gallon smart pots with FFOF soil, this will only be my second time growing in organic soil, so we'll see! day 1 of 12/12 was January 18th so they're just a little over a week in right now.
January 11th, transplant day.
January 25th, 7 days into flower, start of week 3
They're still much lankier than I would like, but I didn't veg them really, so I guess fuck it.
February 2nd, start of week 3 flower
Well the start of week 3 is here! Bud production seems slightly behind schedule from what I've seen before, but since I transplanted only about a week before I flipped the lights I'm thinking there's just a bit more residual nitrogen in the soil than usual. I fed a light dose of Kool Bloom to balance that out. Not honestly too worried about it though, it's not gonna hurt the yields, just delay the harvest a week or two potentially.
February 9th, start of week 4 flower
More pics of weed plants making weed flowers. Not a whole lot to say right now.... they're 21 days into flower and so far they're just chugging along doing what pot plants do best. Starting to see some trichome production which is always nice, so I installed my carbon filter. Smell is fairly mild right now, but I know very soon we're going to be looking at some gnarly odors from these babies. Headband is definitely outpacing the OG18 in terms of trichomes but I think it's falling a bit behind on yield. Honestly though making judgements like that after only 3 weeks of 12/12 is really silly, only time will tell.
February 16th, start of week 5 flower
Well, pretty much exactly halfway through now! Buds are starting to really fill in nicely, and I'm thinking the harvest will be pretty nice. Starting to see some mild deficiencies (which makes sense because I haven't fed them once yet.... FFOF has tons of food in it). So this morning I gave them their first feeding in flower and I'm confident that will sort everything out. Check out the last pic though... starting to get some purple fan leaves on the OG18 plants. Do you all think that's just genetics? I've never seen a deficiency that looks like that, but I'm hardly omniscient.

Yeah thanks buddy. It's a 1000W light in a 4x5 closet. The guy who gave me the plants gave me about a gram of the headband finished product and it was the absolute definition of heavenly. Just euphoric and comfortable as all hell.

Dam two weeks they grew a lot man !! What did you give them
I cant get my plant to grow like that, Maybe because I use a 400w and not a 1000w light ?
I order some seeds last year and got a headband as a freebee. Me not being careful I broke its little tap root. So I never got to grow that strain.

They are in 5 gallon smart pots with FFOF soil (they were in 1 gallon pots and I transplanted them the second they arrived). I haven't fed them anything yet except a bit of CALiMAGic or whatever the fuck it's called from GH, some floralicious plus (that stuff is sick) and some Rhizotonic to help them move in to their new 5 gallon homes. I'm going to give them a bit of Koolbloom (basically the same as PK 13/14?) since the soil is very nitrogen rich and I want to balance that out a bit for flowering.
Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Updated first post!
I've started to see a bit of Powdery Mildew which pisses me the fuck off. I have a 650CFM fan in a 100 cubic foot room so I thought I was clear (plus in colorado it's only like 5% RH during the winter). I'm guessing my canopy is just a bit too dense plus I don't have any direct airflow on the plants. I'm going to install a rotating fan to blow directly on the plants, but I'm fully open to any other suggestions people have to getting that shit out of there.

Thanks P-O. I think the purple is genetics also, we had a couple weeks of subzero temps outside here, so even though this grow room is indoors, it shares a wall with the outside so nighttime temps might have dipped fairly low. My guess is that's where the purple is coming from
I went and got a foliar PM wash, plus I trimmed all the visibly infected leaves off, so I'm going to spray them as soon as the lights go out and hopefully I can hold it at bay at least long enough to harvest.
