revegging a plant after harvest

has anyone harvested weed off their plants and left a couple of bud sights slightly unharvest and let their plant recover?
I know people have done this before but I have some questions
how did yield compare the second time around?
how long did it take to recover compared to the first time around?
there was a guy on the EDIT forums who did this to 3 White Russian plants.

I haven't done this, but the general, personal impression I've gathered from reading is that its just not something worth doing. I think the time it would take to reveg and the stress on the plant stand as detriments to doing so when compared to simply taking clones from the plant during the first week or two of flowering and replacing the plant with them. Its been done of course and it might be worth it absent any option for cloning. Hopefully someone around here has given it a go to give us some real input.

It's definately slower, but if it's not that much slower and you have a constant supply of personal smoke prehaps a lazy stoner would prefer this method.
Isn't taking clones during flower ineffective, or is that only late in flowering? Hanky was telling me that it takes 3 weeks for a clone to revert back to veg from flowering.

Clones can be taken during flower but they take longer to root and also have to revert to veg growth, expect four weeks at least for them to revert properly. They also form many growth tips that produce bushy plants that wont suit a sog method.
That's his exact post from the thread "Clone from veg or flower". I like SoG so I really wouldn't want to take from flower :p

During the first or possibly second week after flowering is induced there shouldn't be any real problem taking clones, as long as the plant is still stretching. It probably isn't until the stretching begins to slow that the cloning window closes.

I've reveged and reflowerwed a few plants, the time taken and reduced yeilds (about 20% less IME) second time around make it unfeasible.

so yield is around 80%, how much extra time does it take compared to clones?

It takes a month to properly revert to veg then some time to actually get a veg framework for flowering, around six or seven weeks total before you can flip the lights.
Compare that to two weeks to get roots on clones then a month veging and you're using up the same time roughly.

so starting over is a lot better
you would also need more light for a large plant compared to a small clone
I had my dreams!

Yeah start over. Just make a small cabinet with a pc fan and a compact fluro for clones. Then you'l always have clones ready to veg straight after you harvest.

im thinking of a t5 bank for clones/vegging
I like SoG grows but I'd veg if I tried SCRoG prehaps that's what I'll do with my next grow.
SCROG growing a pure sativa would be awesome.

not worth it bro, its so quick and easy to just start a new grow.
take a clone pre flower. maybe a few. and keep them in veg until the flowering plants finish, then clone off the veg ones and stick the veg ones into flower, then so on and so on.
cloning is SO simple man, definately a MUCH better way to grow than tryin to keep a plant going. weed is designed to bud then die. although you can keep it alive, everything works better to do it the way its intended.
