First Grow, XJ-13

Hey everyone. New here and recently got my MMJ card and am interested in learning to grow. I plan to use CFL on a closet grow. Still have some learning to do on ferts. I figure though if I can keep a marine tropical ecosystem thriving for years corals and all I can grow bud.
So I have 6 seeds. If I plant only 3 do I still have a good shot at getting a female?

If you plant 3 beans you got a good shot of getting at least 1 female out of them.

I recall Magash making a good point how it only take 1 male to pollinate a shit ton of females and how mother nature "isn't stupid".

Yeah I know I want to remove any males asap as soon as i even think its a male. This is just a closet grow so went to home depot, bought perlite vermaculite and a 10:10:10 fert for the seedlings

Take a cutting of each plant, flower those cuttings and you will find out which one is male and which one isn't. (Obviously you'll flower in a different room)

Also seedlings do not need ANY ferts for first 3 or 4 weeks.
Seed starter soil works great imo.

You can also sex them 3-4 weeks from seed by looking at the preflowers usually.

I think even 2 is a decent chance of getting a female. At least I only planted 2 of something recently and got 1 of each.

Okay I've got them germinated. So my understanding is not to fertilize them? For how long. I bought a 10-10-10 liquid to start them off

An inch is too deep for the seed. The top of the seed should be covered with one seeds height worth of soil.

Okay thanks guys. Idk what I did wrong but they've finally germinated after 3 days. Going to plant now.
Im really exited and I will be keeping this thread updated. Hopefully with pics. From what I've read xj13 is an easier strain to grow. If the yield is good might try a nice indica next time.
So pretty much I'm running a very basic hydroponics system. Plant in a 1 gallon bucket with holes drilled to let water flow in and out freely and set in another larger bucket with about 2 inches of water in it. That and I'm in an apt. Can't be messin up the carpets with big bags of fertz and shit. So liquid it is.
I know for the seedling the 10-10-10 will by fine until the veg state, I was told the Alaskan fish fertilizer will be good for veg? And reccomendations for flowering?

The reason these are good are that one the plants love the stuff and no matter how much you use you won't burn the plants.
