How old were you when you found out about santa clause not being real? What's the story? Did you cry?
I actually found out on easter in the 2nd grade. My mom sat me down and told me santa wasn't real and either was the easter bunny, but if I wanted, she would still hide the eggs. WTF!

kids at school told me he was fake..... but mom pushed that it was a hoax, and "HE IS REAL".... this went on for years, till i realized that my mom is crazy.
Im not gonna lie to my child about SANTA. fuck that. Im gonna be honest with my kids, and let them ruin it for other snot nosed brats at school

I think telling kids about santa is fine and if you did right as far as raising them then not only will they figure it out on their own, they will also appriciate you for you.
