Is shit getting worse or does it just seem that way due to the internet and the new multi-media age? I always hear that it seems like it is, but its always been like that. I'm just more aware and there's more news covrage world wide on the internet on a daliy basis.
I'm not buying it. I honestly think that people are becoming more and more bat shit crazy and are detatching from life. Think about it. At least once a week you're hearing about a new school shooting or some sick and twisted murder.

Bad shit has been happening since the dawn of time, ever since the first crazy was born. But think
about it, the population was smaller back then. Of course it may seem like there are more crazies,
but it's just because there are more people. bigger overall population = larger amount of crazies.
It's still as balanced, nothings changed, it just seems that way. Do that math tiger.

I'm gonna say there are more batshit crazies out nowadays then say 100 years ago. Well maybe not more but easier for them to act out. With the weapons we have now it's easier to take out more people in a shorter amount of time. Plus with the media people want to be famous and do crazy shit just to make a name for themselves but if you go back in time most people doing crap like this at least had a message they wanted to get across no matter how stupid it was.
Then you have to take in to account that in this country it takes a extreme form of action to get anybody to listen. Even then nothing gets done. Example: 20 kids get killed almost a year ago. Non-stop talking about gun control. Nothing got done at all.
Example 2: Here is the bad thing about the USA. Say you hate puppy mills as I do. You can put up posters, tv commercials, protests, and you lucky if you make the news let alone get anybody to pay attention to your cause. Now grab a 30/6 and take out a few puppy mill owners and now people are paying attention. You're gonna be labeled a nutcase (which of course you would be). People won't say your name on tv cause they don't want you to be remembered buuuuuuuuut everybody is talking about your cause.
So we make it easier to be a nutcase and at the same time push people into being nutcases.

Nothing's real from inside our great American aquarium, but if food runs out for a spell or there's a power outage for an extended period, people are going to get it.
Smaller things that MAY be coming, like a chocolate shortage, can help indicate that not all is great.
I think the $4.00+/gallon gas prices of recent years were a slight wake-up call, but on the same token things always improve, then decline, improve, etc.
I do think we are declining at a higher rate, but all good things must come to an end. A good preview would be Are we consuming wealth faster than we can create it? Any society that does that collapses eventually.
