Would you consider Etizolam addictive?

A few people I've spoken to online say that they've taken Etizolam multiple times a day for weeks on end and stop to no withdrawl effects nor the need to continue taking it.
I'm worried about someone I know who's taking it every other day, he say's it won't affect him negatively. Is this true? I realize it isn't a 'classic' Benzo per-say but would the risk factor still be high when using this particular drug?
Thanks guys.

i only use em for comedowns, sleep, social anxiety (weddings and shit). i use .5-2mg a time, never more. and never more then once a week. If your popping em everyday u may run into some addiction/withdrawal tho...
i got 100 on the way right now (paid $55)

Of course they can be addictive. And you should be concerned for your friend.

I'll post some links when I have more time, but etizolam is said to not cause the same physical withdrawal as regular benzo's

Quote:
Etizolam : Forget everything you knew about benzos BY audacity
I was looking over some PubMed research on etizolam, and came across some very surprising studies. Etizolam might be a safer anxiolytic than classical benzos, while still retaining high effectiveness and rapid action.
1. Patients with generalized anxiety disorder were either treated with Etizolam (0.5 mg), Alprazolam (0.5 mg), or Bromazepam (3 mg) twice a day. While all three drugs retained their effectiveness over 2 weeks, etizolam actually started to become more effective than the other benzos from to 2 weeks to 4 weeks (reverse tolerance in a way). The researchers also note antidepressant activity in etizolam not seen in the other two drugs tested. Etizolam in the Treatment of GAD (PubMed Abstract
2. No cognitive deficits over 3 weeks compared to placebo were noticed with etizolam 0.5 mg BID, a curious finding for a BZD agonist Effects of 0.5 mg BID Etizolam on cognitive performance (PubMed Abstract)
3. When multiple doses of etizolam or lorazepam were administered to rat neurons, lorazepam caused downregulation of alpha-1 BZD sites (aka tolerance/dependence), while etizolam caused an increase in alpha-2 BZD sites (aka reverse tolerance to anti-anxiety effect).
Also, the researchers noted a marked tolerance over time to the anticonvulsant effects of lorazepam, but no significant tolerance to anticonvulsant effects of etizolam.
Quote from abstract: "These data suggest that etizolam is endowed with a reduced liability to induce tolerance and dependence compared with classical benzodiazepines."
Etizolam: Less Tolerance/Dependence than Classical Benzos (PubMed Abstract)
Look around on the web, there's tons of cases where people noticed etizolam withdrawal is next to nothing when compared to benzo's.
With that being said, I still think etizolam should be used with just as much caution as you would with benzo's. It may not have the same physical dependency issues as benzo's but doesn't mean it isn't addictive.

Yeah just as I expected, it's not a 'classic' benzo afterall... I've read in a few places that the risk of addiction is considerably lower compared to other Benzos.

Well, I wouldn't say it's less addictive, it definitely seems to have a very similar potential for addiction. But it's definitely less likely to make you more physically dependent.
Still not something you want to make a habit out of, the heavy blackouts it can cause poses a whole other level of danger.

I do see why you would say that but trust me, tramadol has a terrible withdrawal. I ordered a few thousand of them one time and was eating handfuls a day, I mean I was taking redicluous amounts(not gonna say how much but I needed 10-15 a day just to feel normal and not even high) but there is definitely some harsh withdrawal.
I'm very experienced when it comes to meth, opiate and benzo withdrawal, and out of all those, tramadol had the worst depression and had the longest lasting side-effects after use. It wouldn't be so bad if tram didn't have SNRI effects, which causes some heavy serotonin syndrome if not tapered properly. But it also has the typical opiate withdrawal alongside that. IME tramadol was worse than opiate withdrawal.
But you really have to abuse the fuck out of tramadol to get to that point. It's a nice drug in moderation IMO it's my second favorite opiate actually. But not everyone is luck enough to metabolize it as efficiently.

Yeah I really learned what little self control I had after that whole ordeal, it's hard to resist when you have over a thousand pills.
People look at tramadol like it's such a benign drug, but from someone experienced with poly-substance addiction/withdrawal, it's still nothing to play around with large amounts of it. Especially with that risk of seizures.
Goddamn does it have a nice little high though.

From my understanding the seizure things was a very very rare thing. Only like one or two people had experienced it.

It's not as common as some people like to think that's for sure, but it poses a very serious risk if your seizure prone. Some people just don't know whether they are or not, I have heard of multiple cases where people abused to much and ending up having a seizure, it's not common but it does happen.

Yeah I did a little more research into it. It's less than 1% of people who take it.
I've just made myself not order them I ahven't had any opiates in quite awhile, trying to keep it that way.
