Pale-Blotchy leaves on Bubba Kush Clone (Pics)
    #684023 - 09/02/13 10:24 AM (11 years, 2 months ago)

got this clone at a dispensary along with 2 blue dream clones. both the blue dreams are doin awesome and look great. the bubba kush is growing nicely too, nice white roots showing at the bottom of the pot, so i need to transplant them soon.

but the bubba kush has weird blotchy leaves. i thought it would go away when i first got it, but sure enough, all the leaves look the same.

IMO the leaves look like they have some mite damage but don't quote me on that.

Seems to be a common problem at most clubs.

It doesn't look like classic mite damage, but check for em anyways.  Once leaves have damage, whether caused by nutrient issues or bug damage, don't repair themselves and start looking better.  You have to look to the new growth/make sure that the problem isn't getting worse on the old growth.

You should fill out the questionnaire at the top of this forum.

I dont wanna scare ya but that looks a lot like Mosaic virus. The virus is pretty benign...but difficult to get rid of. It can live in dried plant material for up to 2 yrs.

I'd play it safe for a while. quarantine the plant as much as you can.  insects and finger tips spread a virus the quickest.

here's some pics of MV.

yea, i was talking to a friend earlier and he brought that same thing up. i forgot the name, but remembered when he brought it up. i thought i had it on a plant last year but that one ended up turning out fine.

i think im going to kill it. its not worth risking anything. im going to run up to River Rock in denver and pick up some more clones on thursday or friday.

Sooo, you killed it without really knowing?  I think that was a bit premature.

well how am i supposed to know for sure?

i'm used to growin mushrooms. so tossing somethin out for a possible contamination/virus or something isn't a problem to me. i'm pretty sure that was mosaic which is why i threw it. the entire plant looked like that and all the new growth had the same look to it.

now i can go get new clones! :awesome:

better safe than sorry. It's not like the plant was well established and ready to flower out. better to lose out on 10 bucks than risk infecting your entire grow.

Well I agree, I would have just quarantined it to see how it did.
