It depends on what kind of oil you want.
If you want the "black oil" then by all means let it sit for a half hour, but if you want at least a deep amber oil, even a golden oil, do multiple (No more than 3) quick (20-45 seconds), ice-cold washes. Keep your washes separate, or at least keep your 3rd wash out of your first 2.

Sunlight can degrade cannabinoids. (Not the biggest issue though.)
Heating iso. alcohol over a source of very dry heat (A toaster oven), let alone the risk of a spark, will eventually turn out very bad.
I have no input on the wet towel on a pancake pan, other than I wouldn't do it.

IMO you should either fan evaporate directly out of an open window or exhaust fan, then finish off in a double-boiler setup while staying well-ventilated. (Very easy to do, just find a short, wide pot to boil water in, and get an 8"x8" pyrex pan to hold the iso. and oil.)
Or just double-boil it off from the get go, staying EXTREMELY well-ventilated because the iso. will evaporate very quickly and fill the room if you aren't prepared.

Well I might make firecrackers, but it wouldnt be 7 it would be more like 3-4 because I have bad absorption in my stomach when it comes to edibles so Id want them to be extra potent.

For the ISO hash... Is there an easier way to scrape that shit up?  I literally ruined a dinner plate trying to scrape it off with a razor blade, on top of that I barely even got any yield, the plate was left a green tint because I had to just leave it on there like freakin concrete.

EDIT: OH I JUST REMEMBERED I HAVE LIKE 3-7 MORE GRAMS OF TRIM I CAN USE TOO, SO 9-15 GRAMS TOTAL

ya i have done at least 50 ISO OIL batches over the years....


we dont call it iso hash.... cuz ur not making hash... ur making a hash-oil.  so here we call it just "black oil"



1.go grab some iso today 70%-99%.  (pharmacy or farm store)
2.soak ur materials in a jar with iso. 
3mix/shake. 
4 strain with coffee filter into pyrex dish (use a round one if u wanna do a double boil, otherwise let it evap on a toaster oven or in sun or something)
5. repeat steps 2-4 if u want (i dont with trim )
6. make sure u get ALL the iso out of it..... best to heat/ mix /cool, do that a few times.... till it comes out a ear wax

scape up ... put ur oil in beer caps or viles.... then use rolling papers for last bit,

Okay..so...  How long exactly do I let it soak in the jar full of ISO?  Ive heard 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 20 minutes...  When I did it I soaked it for about 60 seconds while shaking it.

I was only going to do 1 run MAYBE 2 runs at the most, I want quality and it depends on whats left over.

I dont have any round pyrex bowls, so I'll have to use a pyrex pan/dish.. When straining through coffee filters, should I use one coffee filter or more like 3-5 coffee filters?

Once its strained, do I have to let the ISO evaporate for 24 hours or is there a quicker way? Being that I'll be using a dish pan I cant really fit it into a pot and bowl water under it.  Am I going to be heating it up again after 24 hours and it letting it sit to evaporate again?

I'll probably have a few more questions once I get these answered
