I used to get lightly seeded pot from Humboldt County

If they started from seed and cut the males down as soon as they showed, then this is probably what would happen? Out of pounds, I got a good scrip bottle of seed. Thanks, Peace

We got about ten pounds of this pot from this guy who got it from Humboldt. They grew it on the corner of their property. I don't know a lot about the specifics. I knew they were probably growing about 1000 pounds a year. Is there enough pollen in the air in a place like Humboldt to pollinate and make seed? I figure if they were cutting the males they were just leaving them out in the field. I've also had pot from (area censored) that was very lightly seeded. Is there enough pollen in the air?

There could be multiple reasons there can be seeds. Someone missed some males, or the genetics had hermaphroditic tendencies, or just stressed out a bit and threw some nanners.

I knew they were starting from seed. This was about 20 years ago. Most people probably use clones now. I've seen a lot of the monster plants grown for medical in High Times. They must be clones. You don't think the males they cut would release pollen? These were fairly novice growers. I think most of the males in Humboldt get cut, but I know there's a lot of growing there. Thanks, Peace

Well a male would have to be in flowering for them to release pollen. People cut males BEFORE this.

There's no way the first flowers could release pollen? Has anyone noticed that their sinse is lightly seeded? It's got to all come out making sense somehow.

The pre-flowers wouldn't release enough to fertilize anything. I've never even noticed pollen coming out of them. In the size of crop you are talking about, you'd be taking them out WAY before even the females would be available to receive the pollen.

Happens all the time...especially with novice growers you speak of
