Best organic soil??

So I had a friend come to visit recently. He tried some buds grown TLO (true living organics) style and loved it. He's been a synth. nutes guy whose been wanting to try something new. He likes TLO but doesn't want to spend the time reading about microbes or going through the armada of clashing soil recipes that are never the same. Simply he wants to go organic, but isn't ready to jump in head first into the dizzying world of microbial growth that is TLO.
He asked, "What's the best bagged ORGANIC soil that I can try out from start (clones) to finish?"
Since I've been on a TLO bender for some time now, I really am not too confident where to send him. I've head Fox Farm's Ocean Forest is really good or Vital Earth's Potting Soil, but I know I am probably missing out on some other great ready-to-use organic mixes. He plans on switching to organic nutes as well, maybe try some teas. All indoors.
But this isn't just for my friend, I too am interested in who you guys think makes the best organic bagged soil, for anyone to plant start to finish. There's gotta be something that works great (for yield and taste) that beginners or the not so involved person can use, right?

Ps. Fairly new to this forum so please pardon if someone's already asked this. If there's a link would love to skim a previous thread. Hopefully that has a general consensus lol

I dont know wtf TLO is but fox farm ocean forest is what i go with. Doesnt any organic grow rely on microbial life? This TLO thing is seriously tripping me out. Roots organics makes good soils but ive seen people return bags of it cuz they opened em up and found mold or fungus gnats. Promix and sunshine are decent brands too but the organic blends are less common and sometimes a lil pricey.
I would just go with FFOF.
if you want to go with organic nutes Roots Organics makes a pretty good 2 part Grow/Bloom for pretty cheap actually. LINK
Botanicare makes some BADASS organic supplements too. I havent used their nutes too much but two things I use all the time are their Fulvex (omri listed) and Strapped molasses.
Sometimes I use the molasses with earthworm castings and compost to make a tea. Depending on whether im in veg or flower I will use either a high N or high P bat guano as well.

Ffof is excellent soil. I am experimenting with a local organic blend now. No results on that at this time. Botanicare Nuets are good. I have used them in all my grows to date and love them.

First of all, if you want to have a thriving organic grow. Bagged Soil like roots organic/fox farm is NOT the way to go. They simply aren't diverse or rich enough in microbes/amendments Compared to a homemade soil.
If you want the BEST soil. Start off with a base of the new Pro-Mix HP-CC
then to this base add 25% EWC/Compost and 25% pumice
Here's a perfect organic soil mix that I developed after years of reading and trial/error. The most important thing to remember is that in your organic soil the compost/EWC has to be QUALITY!
The best worm castings and compost in the country will usually be locally sourced from farmers or made by yourself because it will usually have more diversity as far as how it was amended. Most companies who sell EWC/compost are out to make a profit by reducing as much Bio Mass as possible.
Although some companies actually do have great EWC/Soil such as worm farms and mostly family operated venues such as. Coast of Maine, Malibu's Compost, etc.
SO far our soil mixture is as follows.
Pro-Mix HP-CC 25% Compost/EWC 25% Aeration
Now we have to add our amendments. I use the following amendments.
4 Cups per Cubic Foot Azomite 1/4 Cup per Cubic Foot Espoma Organic Fertilizer (Any one without Cottonseed Meal) 1/2 Cup per Cubic Foot Neem Cake Meal 1/2 Cup per Cubic Foot Kelp Meal 1/2 Cup per Cubic Foot Alfalfa Meal 1/4 Cup per Cubic Foot Gypsum 1/3 Cup Per Cubic Foot Oyster Shell Flour 1/3 Cup per Cubic Foot Neptunes Harvest Crab Shell 1/3 Cup per Cubic Foot Fish Meal 1/4 Cup per Cubic Foot Fish Bone Meal
Keep in mind this soil even after mixed with these amendments needs to Cycle for 1-2 months. To do this get a Large rubber maid tote and fill it with your mixed soil.
After the soil is in the tote apply an Actively Aerated Compost Tea of
5gallons of water 2 Cups Worm Castings 1/4 cup Kelp Meal 1/8 Cup Aloe Vera Juice (Lily Of the Desert Preservative Free) Bubble for 24 hrs in a 5gallon bucket with an aquarium pump and the LID ON but NOT SEALED Strain, and drench/mix into soil thoroughly
Then Keep the lid on the soil in the tote with a little crack of the lid (dont seal the tote)
After 1 month place the soil from the tote into the pot's you'll be using to grow in.
Allow the soil to cycle in the grow pot's for another month. (this is because when you transfer the soil from the tote into the pots) It disturbs the microbes.
Never Mix your soil after applying the first AACT this disturbs the colonies.
Pumice is the best aeration stone to utilize because it's porous features provide great places for microbes/fungi While perlite provides aeration it's essentially very limited in it's performance for this attribute compared to pumice as well.
If done properly This is the best a soil mix will get and it would be Water only with only the occasional ACT/Botanical Tea Being needed once a month or so. No PPM/PH testers are necessary for True Living Organics. The nutrient rich soil acts as a stabilizer for pH while any nutrients the plant could possibly need are broken down by enzymes that our microbial friends use to process these nutrients that where amended into our soils and are then able to be consumed by the plant.
Talk about easy gardening, and Happy Growing!

TLO - True Living Organics
It's Organic soil that has an abundant source of microbial life (one that's been cycled for months)
Regular organic soil, (any bagged organic soil) Is not a TLO for it's been comprised only for profit, with limited standards and not a rich source of microbes/fungi
Any soil can have just organic amendments, but a TLO soil has the highest quality compost and worm castings and has been cycled for months

So i just add some mychorrizae and mix in some compost and its TLO??
I already add compost to pretty much everything in ground cuz our city has a badass compost facility where they sell 50 lb bags for like 3 bucks or a truckload for $20.
Then i use compost teas for fertilization, and i have not tilled the ground for the last 3 years.
Is that tlo?
I have peppers in ground in those conditions and a couple others in containers with straight FFOF...and they look and taste about the same to me??

I'd totally suggest ROOTS organics soil, they even have a product that has all the natural mycrobes and you just add it to the soil to increase good bacteria....

How come Happy Frog never gets any play? Honestly I prefer it over the OF, gotta have those mycorrhizae.

Hands down Dr Earth. There soil is natural and organic, great quality, has mycorrhizae, and is cheaper than ffof.

I have had great results with FFOF and the Roots Organics soil line. Both run 18-20 dollars a bag at my local hydro store.

Lots of different recipes for soil mixes out there, just find something that suits your preferences.
Here are some good examples...
