The Official Vaporizer Thread
    #66918 - 06/26/08 07:34 PM (16 years, 7 months ago)

Hey Kids,

I thought it would be cool to start a thread about vaporizers. The first time I smoked out of a vaporizer was about two years ago, however I just bought my first vaporizer about two months ago. Since I bought it after smoking pot for nearly ten years, I'm having the best highs of my life. It's to the point now that except when I'm driving, I will not smoke out of anything but a vaporizer. I know that makes me seem like an asshole or an elitist but the difference is so big in my mind. Literally in my opinion the highs you get from smoking pot from a vaporizer is so much better and lasts longer than just smoking from a pipe, bong, blunt, joint, knives, etc. So I think this thread should be about vaporizers. If you own a certain model post a picture and a review about it. If you have questions about vaporizers, ask them here. And let's just keep it going because I fucking love vaporizers and I want everyone to try them and get into them because you guys won't be sorry

Okay so here's my model.

Name: I have no idea

Info: I have absolutely no idea what model my vaporizer is. It looks just like this one expect it's bigger with a cool little stash drawer under the heating element big enough to hold maybe a half ounce of weed. It's all electronic which is cool because I hate to fool with knobs. I picked it up at a local smoke shop for $99.99 but I've seen models that look like this online anywhere from $50 to $150. I'm pretty sure mine is a Chinese knock off because it came with directions that consisted of hilariously bad broken English. Also I've seen these types of vaporizers being made and being sold from at least a dozen different companies.

Use: Turn vaporizer on, set temperature, wait for unit to heat up. Grind up some pot and put it in the big end of the hose. When the temperature is hot enough, connect hose to vaporizer and smoke.

Pros: Such a simple and basic vaporizer. I don't want to have to go to college for two years to figure out how to work something. This beast is simple and efficient and gives great hits.

Also an unexpected pro is with the digital display on the front, as you breath the vapor in, the vaporizer will cool and the temperature of the unit will drop. We've actually invented the THC Olympics where we'll see how who can get the vaporizer to drop the furtherest. The way we play is to let the vaporizer get to the 420 degrees and then hit it as hard as we can. The record right now is 129 I think.

This vaporizer is a fucking tank man. It's been dropped a couple of times and always stood up to the beating. It's also been in heavy use since I bought and so far continues working magnificently.

Cons: The screen the hose is unbelievable hard to replace. I spent nearly two hours the other day fucking with the screens in the unit trying to replace them. It is really my only source of annoyance with this vaporizer but it is a real bitch to replace the screens. The broken english directions don't tell you how and the videos and instructions on the internet are complicated. What makes me the angriest is the poor design in regards to the screens. If they had simply employed a twist lock two piece bowl piece rather than a one piece, this system would be almost perfect. However, this one flaw while small will come back to annoy the fuck out of you every few weeks.

The fact that according to the display, the temperature swings so much would probably annoy the more upper-class realm of pot smokers. To me it's just fine because honestly the time it takes to get back to it's target temperature is time I need to catch my breath and prepare myself for the next hit. However, it really isn't consistent in terms of the flow of pot you get. However, the way I do it is I hit it and get it as far down as I can and then let it build back to 350 to 400 and go again. It really doesn't matter because honestly after about five or six good rips, I'm taking little baby tokes because the first five or six rips fucked me up so good that I can only do baby hits. It's really not a problem to me, but I could see how this would annoy others.

Stoned Rating - 9 out of 10

For comparisons

Joint - 3 out of 10
Blunt - 5 out of 10
Bong - 6 out of 10
Hookah - 7.5 out of 10
Knife Hits - 5 out of 10

Original Vapor Bros. here. This is the vapo that started the "wooden box" trend. I highly recommend the vapor bros. brand, they are very durable and well made. This one has been in constant use for over 3 years.

There are lots of imitators, most probably work just the same. It's no volcano obviously, but it is my preferred smoking method. especially with a new screen and cleaned out whip and some tasty nugs.

when i really wanna smoke hella dope, i fire up two vapos at once.

I really wanted one :frown:

The ballooons don't really appeal to me.

How long on average does weed last you compared to smoking it?

My favorite cheap vaporizer is the Easy Vape at around $150 for people that cant afford the $500+ for the Volcano.

The Easy-Vape

retails for $150 but you can score them brand new on e-bay for $80.

I've had mine for almost 2 years now and I got rid of my hands-free vape bros. because I liked it better. Plastic, not wood, but still plenty durable with a ceramic heating element and almost half the price . Comes with a 5 year warranty and from my research the only thing you have to worry about going wrong is blowing the fuse which is a quick $5 fix. Uses 18mm gong joints compared to Vape Bros' 14mm.

Today is the Big Day!!! My Vrip order has finally arrived after waiting 1 whole week (it felt like it would never get here!)

So without further adieu I present to you all: The Vrip Water Tool Pro Model (Package Deal)

-Package contents: Pro Water Tool / Heat Wand / 2 Piece VCB / 18.8mm slide-

-This is the 18.8mm slide and 2 piece "VCB" [Vacuum Chamber Bowl]-

-Fully constructed "VCB" with Slide-

-Fully Constructed "Vrip Water Tool Pro Model" -

-Vrip Master Heat Wand-

-The only True "all glass" Vaporizer-

So there you have it! A new in depth look at this particular version, one of Vriptech's finest creations! I just gotta wait for the wife now to try it out:rolleyes:but after the week i just had to endure... whats one more hour?

:happyweed: If you like what you see rate AND appreciate :happyweed:

I'll post a follow up on the taste/smell/effect/etc. after the wife and I test it out!

(EDIT)

-Follow up-

I'd first like to say that I downloaded the instruction booklet from vriptech international,

-The wand-
I turned the heat dial to its highest setting and allowed my wand to heat up for 10 min. in a ceramic coffee mug this helps it to reach inital heating temps and sustain heat better in between hits.

-The Water Tool Pro-
After fully assembling the Water Tool I add water to the appropriate level just above the end of the slide also ice cubes for the ice catch. The lower VCB has a screen in it that's holding my finely trimmed herb, filled to the brim, and packed evenly. I then attach my upper VCB with a slow and snug downward twist making sure the o-rings have a proper seal...and we're ready for take off!

-The Vrip Experience-
After the 10min. warm up time, I lower the wand to the upper VCB and insert it to where the heat wand's outer o-ring makes an air seal with the inside of the Bowl. Next, drawing in my first breath at a steady pace I begin to see vapors fill the chamber. I exhale..
(a few vapors wisp out of my mouth) then I remove the slide and take my very first "VRIP"... I taste everything in this particular specimen, very skunky, smooth, and light. It was painless to hold this in, no tickle in my throat begging me to cough up a storm, no pressure in my chest while letting it all sink in. It was as if I had breathed in a fresh delicious cool breath of air, while on the exhale a massive amount of savory vapor slowly floated on out the window... By the time my wife had taken her first Vrip and handed it back to me I was noticeably high...

After going back and forth for a few minutes allowing the wand to sit in the mug between vrips. This vaporizer allowed us to fully enjoy more taste and medicinal effect from a half gram of herb than ever before, while getting full milky vrips about 4 times a piece. (8 hits total). Next time I probably wont use that much herb either :smirk:

[I wanna ADD that I'm writing this the day after we tested it, and, from that minuscule amount of herb, we enjoyed a high that lasted till after we ate and went to bed 4 hours later...]

The Vrip S.V.T. (Super Vaporization Technique) manual has scientific journals showing Vapor potency being some 200-400% stronger when compared to normal combustion methods as well as (if over heated) very little to no carcinogens or tars... I have great respect for the VripMaster's efficiency to extract the therapeutic and medicinal properties in such a quick, delicious, and healthy way; all while using a significantly less amount of herb.

-Now having personally experienced True Vaporization-

I don't really see the "steep" learning curve many have mentioned when it comes to this tool. Just read the online instructions (Online SVT), use a little common sense and/or having a few trial and error runs with it, and you will achieve milky vapor vrips with soaring highs and minimal waste.

Id also like to add that I think many people write off vaporizers as a bad experience in general, without ever having one of these come their ways. It is completely different then any other vape on the market. Its entirely unique and worth every penny I spent.
I do hope everyone gets at least 1 chance in their life to try this vaporizer, it has no rival IMO. I think once people realize its potential in saving money and achieving longer lasting, healthier highs, there will be no looking back
