 New in box: 23 year old HID lighting equipment. Safe to use?

I've been given a 400W metal halide and 1000W HPS new in box. However, the equipment is 23 years old. I know for sure that storage was dry and climate controlled. Can I safely use this equipment? Everything is included, ballast, wiring, sockets and bulbs. It's all beautiful.

i was usin a 20+ year old hps magnetic ballast that had been used for years and never had any problems. i was really hesitant because of how old it was but it worked great.

Be warned that the capacitor(s) in the ballast usually have an expiry date of 15-20 years... if the capacitor dries out or shorts you could have some trouble.
