So I just did my first transplant last nite. The soil was at 7.5ph. I heard that was high so I tried lowering with lemon juice. Then it was too low. So I boosted up with hydrated lime. Then it was too high! so I've being trying to lower again and I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing and I don't want my babies to die my soil is still wet and I'm trying to give it time before testing again. But my soil is like 5.8-7.8. (It says differnt numbers in differnent spots of the soil ) I'm trying to get to 6.5-6.9. Please someone tell me their not gonna die on me! and how can I solve this to get a stableish pH?!?! Deffiantly gotta smoke about this one......

restart with diff jug of water?
if youre like mega desperate, no useable water and nothing to ph with. you could buy some distilled water and do a quick flush to hold until you make it to a hydro store or something.

Throw out that soil meter, get some pH drops for 10$.
For now, don't add anything to the water

Hey all, I have a similar PH problem. My tap water comes out at around PH8 and my runoff is at PH8. I have just staarted to notice some nutrient lockout symptoms. There is no store in my area that i can get PH down or any similar product from. I have heard lemon juice will lower PH but needs to be applied daily to maintain lower PH. Im using horticulture grade BM8 soilless mix. Would flushing with distilled water help me? I just yesterday started flowering cycle. She drops fan leaves daily from yellowing. Fucking PH.

Okay people, stop worrying about the pH of the soil. Just worry about the pH of the water that you are giving it.
nnn-yan, don't flush it. Just let it be until it needs to be watered again, otherwise the soil will just be too saturated. Leave it be, and the next time you water, make sure it's in the 6.8 ball park. IT doesn't have to be exact, just close.
Zombi, I find it hard to believe there's nowhere to go to find equipment. Where do you live?
Regardless you can find it online. If they're yellowing it sounds more like nitrogen deficiency than lockout. I would recommend making a post in the doctors diagnosis with all the appropriate information and pictures of your grow.

Your right, at first i assumed nitrogen def but i tested my ph of runoff and of water going in. Both are at around 8.5 ish. The reason i ruled out nit def is that the chlorosis is both on old fan leaves and on new shoot growth. If it was simply a nitrogen def I wouldn't be seeing chlorosis on new growth because nitrogen is a primary nute and shows symptoms on lower leaves. The fact that i have chlorosis on new top growth leads me to assume micro nutrient def, likely iron, which, at a ph of 8.5 is relatively un available, explaining its deficiency. So yes these are signs of a deficiency but it is because of ph causing lock out. I have test kits for nitrogen only and it is present in the soil, so i know its not a lack of nitrogen availability its a lock out.

I never check the pH of the soil. As long as you are pHing the water I wouldn't worry about it.
